Anyone ever here of it before? If so, what do I do to fix it? I already checked a vacum line running to the cruise control box, which usually is the problem but it wasn't. So what else do I need to check?

More than likely its a check valve. I have the same thing. It's like a6 dollar dealer only part. Hardest part is figuring out which one it is.

Um what's the problem?

Is it the blend door? Only thing that comes on is either dash or defrost?

Usually when someone talks about wild vents it when they are accelerating or driving along the door will flip between defrost and normal randomly. I'm assuming that's what he's talking about. Usually this means that there is a vacuum leak on the accessory side of the vacuum lines. This could be anywhere from the cruise to the check valves. Most of the time the check valves have gone bad and need replaced. There are several check valves on the accessory tree. So might as well replace them all.

Between the blend door and the actuator door there are plenty of things to fail in the system. So it could be either.

Guess we'll just have to wait for more information

You can do a smoke test on the vac system to check for leaks. Another thing you can try is to take the check valves off and blow through them they only flow one way. That's how i checked mine. But lil frog is right. But ya have to start somewhere. Good to have ya aboard lilfrog.

ok do you know where the accessory tree is? im having trouble finding it

Usually its the passenger side of the intake I think. Just pulled all my check valves till I found the weak one. I think its the one that has a few t junctions and goes into the fire wall. I'll try to get ya some pics in the morn.

VACUUM CHECK VALVE
(1) Remove the vacuum check valve. On gasoline engines, one valve is located in the vacuum supply tube (black) at the intake manifold tap on the right side of the engine. A second check valve is located next to the tee fitting in the vacuum supply tube (black) near the dash panel in the engine compartment.

Make sure you check the condition of the reservoir too. If it's cracked / leaking it wont hold a vacuum during high load conditions:
The vacuum reservoir is mounted in the passenger side cowl plenum area, under the cowl plenum cover/grille panel. The cowl plenum cover/
grille panel must be removed from the vehicle to access the vacuum reservoir for service.
