Opinions on this truck

So we might be trading my bf's Chevy for this cummins and I wanted to get yalls opinion on it, do you think it's a nice truck? It has quite a bit done to it... I think it's pretty nice lemme know what y'all think...

I like it, I know it's high miles but it is a 24v cummins so you still got a lot left in it

Eh id be nervous that it's been hammered pretty badly
Once the head gasket has been replaced they seem to always leak
It would probably look alot better without that bumper

2wd I take it? I'd get rid of the front bumper but for a cummins the miles aren't too bad

It looks pretty tired. I'd get it professionally inspected before ya buy it.

It looks alright I guess. Those are injectors are a little big of a stock turbo IMO.

Say it has a new tranny...and valair clutch. I'd get more info on that.

240,000 isn't horrible for a cummins...but its obviously seen better days.

So how come y'all say it looks worn out? It has a brand new paint job it's just dirty in the pics... We would level it with bigger tires and change the exhaust but other than that at least it has a new tranny. What problems/things should we ask the guy?

Ask him if it has an after market lift pump or work done to the factory one (2nd gens are known to have lift pump problems)

Check for leaks...around the heads(specialy), oil pan, tranny (since its been out and worked on)

What all did he have done to the tranny (Billet internals, new clutch, what kind of clutch)

Ask him why the trubo was rebuilt

Then just your normal question when getting a vehicle.

Sure your bf aint gonna miss having a 4x4?? Just wondering!

There really is no reason for that tranny to need to be replaced at 200k miles
Those mods just scream to me that it has been beat on
I'd be nervous about who did the bodywork
Need details about the clutch and how much power it will hold
Why he had the stock turbo rebuilt rather then upgrading

Yeah he said when he did the HP mods the tranny started messin up....

So now apparently the tranny hasn't been fixed yet but needs to be and he can't afford to get it done... I'm thinkin screw this truck lol
