Kinda lol. Mine had 3 notches closer to the top of the ring that fits through the 3 grooves on the bulb and spins into more grooves on the back of the headlight assembly to keep the bulb in place.

All the notches on the ones you have are closer to the middle of the ring on mine. The area of the outside of the ring below these is what I would have to trim to get them to work

Those headlight restore kits are a joke. The best way to clean then up (in my opinion) is to put a good rubbing compound on them and buff them with a wool pad.

I saw an episode of "Trucks" a while back where they did a side by side of the flitz ball and toothpaste. LOL

Only thing I worry about........it always comes back. Needs to have a UV protectant put on them afterwards.

I sand mine with 400grit, then spray on clear enamel.

Once the enamel cures (in a few days), put a coat of UV paint sealant...

Better than new... and the $6 can of paint will cover about 6 headlights... much cheaper than the 3M kits.

Use 3m restore or just wet sand and buff it out. Some detail shops will buff your dirty or oxidized headlights for 50 bucks. At least that is how much it is around here.

I've tried the sanding and polishing deal on our Cruiser's headlights. It helps some but does indeed come back. I have read that some people suggest sanding, polishing and then clear coating them to get them to stay clear longer. Thinking about doing it and see how it works.

Go for it !
You are correct, kits are nothing more than bandaids - short term
Clear coat has UV protectors and 2K clear coat will last many years
Getting ready to spray mine on my Dodge, can do a detailed write-up if anyone desires

Below is a link to the lights I sprayed on my Lexus.... note I sprayed them with a cheap Husky Pro gun that is known for not being able to spray clear worth a crap...
