I wanted to fold my rear seats down for an amp mounting in the back and I found all the info I needed across several forums so I figured I'd put it all in one place with pics. Also, this doesn't require you order anything, just make a trip to Home Depot
What I Used:
11 bags of 1/2" washer (pic below)
18mm Socket
Breaker Bar (optional)
1" Masking Tape
The articles say 1/2" of spacer but I found that 9/16" worked better for me, and that's 8 of these washers. I used the masking tape to hold them together instead of shoving them all in there individually.. worked much better.
There are 4 18mm bolts holding each seat in, unbolt them. You may need the breaker bar to save some effort(work smarter, not harder) because some of those bolts were torqued with Zeus's Hammer for me. One in the front and one in the rear from each side.
No need to lift the seat up to check just yet otherwise it might be tricky to place back on, I promise if you removed those 4 bolts, you're good. Insert the washer blocks under each hole and hand tighten the bolts back on just so they're threaded in.
Once they're all threaded, tighten them all with the socket. I didn't use the breaker bar because I assumed they didn't need to hold a suspension bridge together, just the seats in place. I still used a good amount of elbow grease though. Once they're all tightened, lift up the seat and almost towards the top, you can pull the seat forward and it all folds down.
You might have to give it a decent tug or push to get it off or put it back on, like slamming a front seat in place when you fold it forward. You could always use another washer on each side, but this way it stays in place. Any questions, let me know!
