How often should the hubs be replaced? I have 190,000 miles on my 2005 Ram. I feel I should replace them since I plan on doing the front brakes soon.

You should check them for play a couple of times a year. If there's no play in them, and they're not making noise, I'd leave them alone until they do act up.

If you're experiencing uneven tire wear, you may want to take a look at them.

Hope this helps you out,
Tony

I did mine at about 115k miles, mainly because I was installing lowering spindles and it was just too easy not to. If you're going to do the front brakes, you're already halfway through half the labor of getting the wheel bearings out anyway. It's just 3 more bolts from that point. Unless you're 4wd. Then it's just a little bit more work from there.

Should the wheel spin free after the torque or will it be tight until the bearings seat and wear? 185 seems like a lot of torque. I know that's what they call for though.
