K&N HP2004 or Mobil 1, Actually on my LX Car My Oil still looks new on the Dipstick after 6 Months. On the Truck because it is Old and I use High Mileage 5w30 I have Switched to MOPAR ones on the last few changes but may try a K&N just once again as the Oil is real dirty by the time its due but that could be more the additives/cleaners in the Oil.

I agree...Im in no way saying a cheap filter is equal an the internals are all the same etc or that its just labeling etc,,Another member brought to my attention that there ALL THE SAME..An I thought I would get some other ram owners input on the subject.I do not feel there all the same......Thanks Zack

Nice looks QC ram btw...What filter do you use an why?

I usually use Amsoil 5w30 but for the last say 10,000 miles I used I think it was a store labeled synthetic that I got for free from where I worked. the filter was a Mopar filter. now its needed again so Amsoil will be going back in it very soon and will be using an Amsoil filter as well.

Folks that beleive they are All the the same, Maybe for Neons and Cavaliers it don't matter (you go Girl), for our Hemi's not true, the internals differ as well as Parts Count and Quality, I believe you get what you pay for and personally I would not put a Fram Filter on a Mopar Engine, not even their new Synthetic one but thats just me.

Wix is another Trusted Brand and I hear the Napa ones in Canada anyhow are OK too.

I use either Mopar, Amsoil, or Bosch Distance filters. When I do extended drains I don't use Mopar one but if I do 6k or less I do. I really like the Bosch Distance the oil stays so clean and it says it holds more dirt so that is nice for the extended drains. There is a lot of difference in the media used on the inside that is what I have read and found after inspecting my own.

Don't know if this will come out large enough to read, but here is a good chart that specifies most popular oil filters specs...

I have used fram filters for ever and never had a issue.

With that said a buddy took his new kia to one of the national chain oil changers, the filter they put on destroyed the engine. The filtering material came apart and blocked all the oil passages. After much screaming the oil filter manufacturer agreed that it was there fault and paid for a new factory replacement motor.
