Can someone help me understand what is going on in this thread? I just got my 3865 today and I have not installed it yet. Do I have the ability to do the tranny tuning? If so I noticed one file for an 04 in the link on the first page, I assume that would be the one I need to copy? Is that what you do just plug in the tuner and set all the TP% values like the ones on the excel spreadsheets? This is the first time I've ever messed with a handheld tuner so I'm really lost.

First timer on forums... I just got the tranmission tune, and man it's confusing. I decided to not even try to understand what it does and decided to upload one of the current ones posted here. I went with the myoung one that sets the TM at 7.2, My problem is that the numbers don't add up exactly. The 1 up match up but that's it. The one thing I did was set the TM t 8 all around instead of 7.2. Is that ? Any help would be nice.. Oh, I did put the numbers as close as possible to the one on the spread sheet and drove it, it drove fine. Your thoughts

Starting to finally mess around with this now but I have a few questions that can hopefully be answered. For the OD off settings, does this apply for when your in tow/haul or just in manual selection? Also speaking of towing, I tow 8k pounds from time to time and are these shift schedules safe for towing? I am mainly looking at JJ's or myoung's v3 uploaded schedules, although JJ does not have any for OD off. Oh and 2010 hemi here

Was hoping I could get some input on my schedule for our 08 Jeep GC...it's much better than stock, but just like stock, I can't get it to stop skipping 3rd gear in most situations. Holds first and second just like I want, then goes straight to fourth and holds that just like I want until fifth but in normal acceleration it skips third.

I've got an 02 Dakota running a Jeep TCM (to allow 5th gear) and it clearly uses 3rd gear. I'm very familiar with the transmission but stumped as to why the Jeep does this.

If I force 3rd gear with the auto stick it does just fine and provides a nice slight RPM drop.

My graphs look good to me and the shifts are good though I've only been able to drive and adjust a few times.

Thanks! Sure wish some of the people on JeepForum knew anything about anything...all they seem to know is how to plastidip and put on a 'sweet' budget lift.

Graph looks ok. Can you post up all your throttle percentages, so we can see where you have your shifts set?

Never done a Jeep, so maybe Scott and I can collaborate on this one. :)

I can do screen shots again when I get home, but I'm more than happy to email you the excel file if you want to put it in that database.

On a side note, is it typical to see a decrease in fuel economy with the 87 tune? Again, I don't get to drive it much (wife's DD, I drive on the weekends) but the EVIC has shown ~1mpg drop since I put the tune on it.

Not typical to see a decrease in mileage. Give the tune some time to settle in and see if it recovers.

I'll PM you my e-mail addy.

Data screenshots for anyone interested...

The mph numbers are rounded off because I did a cursory tune in the Jeep, then adjusted with the tables on the PC and picked the closest number once back in the Jeep.

Good stuff fella's! It's great to get a little assistance from a total stranger, especially when you're a new guy to a forum.

Hopefully my last revision to the schedule will make it to the database and help someone else in the future.

Well, I'm finally getting back into the swing of things now that school has died down a bit! So I started off with using the 2008 4.7L spreadsheet and adjust from there . . . no good haha I have to start from scratch since I run 4.56 gears and definitely running a bit high on the RPM before the shift and my Stock MPH settings were a LOT lower than the said spreadsheet. I really should have gotten my truck flashed at the dealership after going from 3.21 to 4.56 gears but I didn't want to hassle with them since I already had a tuner anyways.

Should be fun!

P.S.
Any way to view the schedules from the SC tunes? I am going to guess that's a no. Just thought I'd ask anyways.

Aside from the custom shift points, I found previously that 8% TM all around works great for me for daily driving.

2005 ram 1500 shift issue

So I downloaded the advanced trans tuning and loaded based on the table for an 2005 ram with a 4.7 Liter and when WOT at 75 or so will shift to 4 and then briefly shift back down to 3 and then back to 4 and pull to 105mph. What do I need to modify in the tune to avoid this issue? Has anyone else had a simular issue?

Currently went back to SC shift tables with 1-2 WOT shift RPM to 5400 and TM changed.

Bringing up an old post, but been searching for transmission tunings and thought I had found the honey hole till I found out there's no trans tuning for a 4.7 2009 rwd 3.55 ram 1500... :-( thought about using the 2010 but didn't even look at gearing ratio or anything like that. What r my options?
