Bad week......

For the retro biz.

When it rains it pours.......

Started out with me purchasing a set of lights from a dude, and I didn't get all the parts.



here's the stuff that is missing:



(yeah, even the internal wiring!)

Talked to the guy, he's got all but the turn signals........so I'll get all that soon.

Shipping snafoos of the week..........

Issue 1 - Sent a set of Mitsubishi lights to NV. Freakin' halo fell off during shipping. Kills me, I shook the crap out of them to see if they'd fall off.......they didn't. Thank you Fedex for finding a way.

Issue 2 - Customer got their retros last night........broken. Here's how they went out:



thats........about 4 layers of bubble wrap. Here's what it looked like when they got it:



Customer repaired that ........ before I had a chance to reply to the email.

Issue 3 - got a set of cores back today. Wouldn't you know it........same as issue number 2. Packed with bubble wrap, and the inner reflector bowl mount is broke.



What kills me? I have been sending 4th gen lights for a bit now...........and I mean a LOT of these lights have come and gone.........I had 1 set of aftermarket lights come in with that part (the inner mount) broke. Never had an OEM like that. Now, 2 in one week........

Man sorry to hear that! We do a lot of shipping with FedEx at work... I mean a lot and usually we hardly ever have any problems with them. UPS on the other hand... they just suck at taking care of things.

Honestly, I have shipped out 99% of my retros with Fedex. All but the ones that go to Canada. Never really had an issue until this week...............

Hand delivery is what RETRO SHOP needs .

You know that isn't going to happen, even on a set like yours - you are only 2 hours away, but......thats 4 hours round trip, $75 in gas........just doesn't work for 99% of my customers.

Oh no way man, like I said in the text - not your fault at all bud. It'll get squared away.

If all else fails......I'll fix it and they'll go in my truck. Yeah......I haz ideas on mine.......LOL

That sucks. Someday I'll have a set.

.... strange, when i received my oem ones from another seller, they were damaged the same way... i think this is a weak point in the lights..... you could always try the aac way of packaging

oh I've seen that........and honestly, it doesn't matter if they are packed like that either. I would rather have 4 layers of bubble wrap over a bare light 1" away from another one. In the vid, I can see those lights smacking lenses the entire way to their customer........

I have lots........and I wish I knew how to chop better! I am hoping to keep the actual "plan" a secret........which is probably not going to happen.

I did hear back from issue #1 today, parts shipped yesterday. So thats cool.

All kidding aside, that really sucks for you Jeremy, 'cause you know FedEx isn't gonna pay crap to you to repair them. I don't get though, the company I work for has a world-wide agreement with FedEx and we shipped and receive tons of stuff, but we very seldom have shipping damage.

I hope you/they are 3 down and done for while.

If they refuse to pay.......I'm going to figure out how much I have spent on insurance since October and demand a refund. LOL (like that will happen).
