Trying to gather tips on re aiming these lights on a 2nd gen

Here is what I have so far at 25 yards . Just seem to low while driving, I only see about 25-30 ft in front of the truck .
Drive side screw ... what direction to lift ?
Pass side screw ... what direction to turn ?

If I turn the screw all the way one direction will it bottom or top out ?
Would like to start form scratch and adjust as I got them all wacked up ..lol

There should be two screws, one in the upper inside (towards the grille) corner of the lens, and one dead center underneath the lens. The first in the corner adjusts left to right, the bottom one adjusts up and down.

I will upload a pic from the service manual within the next hour that will show you, however, if you look at the service manual, its on page 618.

this should help

I think the 1 piece headlights only have 1 adjustment screw (the ones I had on my '99 did).

Really all you can do is adjust them to the best of your ability with that. I ended up running a washer under the pass side lowest mounting bolt to angle the whole assembly up more without dramatically altering the left / right aim.

As for how high up to put the cut off line, There are specs (JJ has a good thread about it) but I found it to be too low for my personal tastes. If you pull up on a level parking lot, along the side of a building, your cut off line should drop ever so slightly as it goes out, not dramatically, and not level with the ground.

There is some really good information on RetroFit Source for aiming on taller vehicles (like a lifted truck)

So
Drive side screw ... what direction to lift ?
Pass side screw ... what direction to turn ?

Have to take these things out every time to adjust and its killing my tabs , already broke one ... dont want to do that anymore .

trial and error, my friend. for me it was counter clockwise was to raise, and clockwise to lower. not sure if it's the same though.

the top one is to turn, the bottom one is to raise or lower

Should be 2. One top left corner. and one bottom dead center. Were old ones off my 01. Think bottom is up&down, clockwise is down..... Top left right&left, clockwise is left. My tyc replacements were the same, sure thats what you have. Should be able to pull that blubber piece off the left hand side and get the upper left screw, and can jimme a long screwdriver between top of bumper and bottom of light as long u can see adj. screw.

:********:

Glad ya got it figured out. Sorry about the delay here, went to bed early last night........day job killed me today, and the painter slid by tonight after work. BUSY! :D

I'm taking a guess here, looking at how high those are up on the garage door.......might be a bit high bud!

Remember, measure the cutoff at the truck. Measure at the door. 2" drop over 25ft. Maybe more on a lifted truck. I bet all the ricers are eating the sun coming from your lights at night :Wedgie:

dave was aiming against his garage door.

So, door, wall, whatever. just do it at a level spot.
