Few notes, as many of the long timers here at RF will see. Yes, I have moved my business to another supplier for HIDs. Our new supplier is The Retrofit Source - a leader in the HID industry. We have used TRS as our projector supplier for years, and have used their HIDs in various builds, and the move to TRS for all of our HID products will help move my business in the right direction.

So, what are the reasons for the new supplier?
- 1000% the reason for moving? Customer support. TRS has 5 full time employees to provide support via the phone. I just can't say no to that! The odd issue pops up - give 'em a buzz and we'll get ya set!
- Another byproduct of the move, I'm going to be stocking the parts. I'm a control freak, drop shipping is great - but.......when a customer asks me if a product has shipped, I can say in confidence when or where it is in the process. This means that ALL orders that arrive before 11AM CST will ship out the same day. Orders that arrive later in the day may still go out same day, but I can guarantee that in stock items will ship same day (if ordered by 11AM CST).
- Few odds and ends.........I simply love the look of their harnesses. Yes, its just a "look", but.....well, it just looks better, ya know? Dual relays (with LED indicator - on low beam models), fully sheathed wiring, spiffy stuff.
- Warranty - got a problem, lets check a couple quick things, and get that part right out to you. All kits are covered by a 3 year no hassle warranty.

Standard HID Harness (4th gen quad low beam shown here). Every kit comes with a harness, even the fog lights. The harness will ensure that your HIDs are getting a non pulsed supply of power, and will keep things running smoothly!

Ballasts - each set is priced with a 35W set of ballasts. 50W available for $10 more (20% more light output!!)



Bulbs - 2 per kit! ALL dual filament bulbs (H13, 9007, 9004, etc) are bixenon now - I no longer carry the HID low / halogen high kits.

The ballasts seem a lot smaller too, unless it's just the picture.

They are a little smaller, a hair here, hair there.

They also incorporate a "speed start" which allows them to fire up FASTER than most HID ballasts, get to temp quicker. Also, the 9006 plug on them is keyed, where my prior setup was keyed on both sides.........confusing, nothing like plugging everything in and......nothing. Oh, polarity can be a . Fixed!

Any retrofit performed from here on out will include the Morimoto hid kits. Prices were adjusted a bit on the site, as there are a LOT less options to choose from.

Looking back over my sales, it was rare to sell the "Economy" kit, 95% of customers opted for the 55W setup. Now, we have 2 kits instead of 4. Kelvin is the SAME across all kits (3K, 4300, 5K and 6K - nope, nothing over that........you are paying for MORE light output, why use bulbs that are lower output? Anything over 6K is a true degradation of light output).

Long story short........

If you were to order a 4th Gen Quad setup (example) - its a few bucks cheaper now with the 50W setup.

I like this a LOT. I'm having issues the "other" kit again. May be hitting you up soon to try these out!

so it really is worth it to get the 50w over the 35w? im thinking i might finally work up the courage to tackle putting hids on

$10 for 20% more light output. I'd say it is. ;-)

cool what about for the fog lights though ive heard it from other vehicles but idk about these trucks if they have the melting housing problem?

i might have to switch from 35, to 50 watt, i just want something stronger, how you be able to do a ballast and bulb combo?

You'll be fine with either.

The REALLY cheap eBay kits run freakin' hot - combined with small housings......well, can have issues. No problem here!

I have bulbs on the site now, will get ballasts and harnesses up tonight - allowing piecing of a kit if you'd like.

Congrats Jeremy. I know this is was a big step for you, but I think it was the right one. This move is going to be a big help for the business.

Kits will ship direct from me, as I will have a rather large inventory of them in stock VERY SOON.

Thats great finally a place to buy bulbs again lol since i could not buy from the other place.

Now all you need to do is move your painter to your house and youll be set lol
