Guys, look at the rear end, see how it is held in place with the lower bars(near the bottom of the shocks, where can the axle housing go.
I'm not going to worry about it.

Thanks Rick! I also called Mag-Hytec and they stated that they haven't received one complaint about the cover being hit by the pan head bar. They did say that tolerances were close and they were aware and that if I had a problem the fins could be machined down a bit in the area. So I am not going to worry about it... because like cud stated, I don't think the bar can move in that direction...It's more of an up and down motion.

I talked to Dave at Mag-Hytec as well today during break. Dave informed me that you need a 1/4" of clearance for a daily driver or more depending on how much articulation you're planning on putting your truck through.

I'm more disappointed when I talked to the salesman at Moe's Performance who posted in the start of this thread. He had it installed on his truck and should advise his potential customers of this since he is a forum vendor. After all I could've bought anyone of the other diff covers on there site and based made my final decision on any info I was provided. Not to be rude but I will take all other posts made by that company with a gain of salt and follow it up with how my trusted forum members feel about a product over a salesman. After all as you can see from my picture of this product, it requires modifications to fit on the vehicle according to the statement made from Dave at Mag-Hytec.

Well im glad I went with my G2 now...

Hey Dilli about how much clearance do you have between pan head bar and your cover? Do you mind posting up a cpl more pics of your setup? I went back to check out the orig pic you posted but can't see the space between cover and bar....looks really good though.

I had a Mag-Hytec on my 2013 RAM 1500 4X4 and had no problem at all. The clearances were a little close but not close enough that I worried about it. When I traded for my 16 Ram 1500 4x4 I installed the same cover on it and still didn't have any problem with it. I talked to Matt about the cover first before the purchase and he gave me accurate information about how the cover would fit---and he was right.

Not to be a NIA but if you are putting one of these covers on forever then you should be using Green silicone, it's the only one actually formulated to stand up to gear lube and you shouldn't be using silicone and an O-ring it the same application, if want to put a little oil on the o-ring that would help it seat when tightening down.

Hi all..I still haven't installed my cover as of yet... I always like to do my mods in stages...sometimes involving a few mods at once... I am actively searching for a better stronger option for the pan hard bar so that I may upgrade at same time as the dif cover. I think there are better options out there then the Spoon bars. I have called cutter-up several times and have left messages with my number but no calls back....so I have.been investigating options for other bar upgrades due to the stock tolerances after installing the MAg covers. I have found this company and their bars look strong...Any thoughts ...as these are slightly bent as well to provide extra room for dif covers. Any thoughts on the bars? I provided link below. Does anyone recommend anything better?

When you say Cutter, are you meaning Cutter-Up. Usually Rob is pretty good at returning calls. Try tagging him on Badlands Rams facebook page, his name is Rob Winkworth. He just sent a bar down south ,so he will ship south of the border. This is his phone number 1-403-264-1221 and there's a good chance he'll answer his phone today if you call after 8:00 AM Mountain time.

This is on my to do list for this summer. Going with the same cover!

Need to purchase one for my sons Sierra 1500 as well.

Yes I have called the number on their website same as above and left my name and number twice, last week. I will try to reach him with the info you provided.
I do also like the bar in the link I provided as well....any thoughts on this company...anyone ever run any of their stuff...the make the whole rear suspension upgrade and heavy duty as well. I might just upgrade everything back there.
