Im not sure how i did it but I think i enabled he cumpass in my truck. I was playing around with the app I selected something to do with the cumpass, and I dont recall selecting any changes cause I dont have the module, and now I had dash marks where the cumpass readout would be in the EVIC.

Do you know what you selected for compass? I have a compass module I plan on putting in and would like to confirm how to enable it.

I got my security harness today (thanks @DeereGuy ) but I'm so busy i won't be able to play around with it until tomorrow or Monday.

Ok I went and check again to see what the hell I did. LOL. I went into car config change, the selected display compass heading present, the selected yes. That put the dashes in my EVIC. I was able to turn it off so now it is blank like it was before. There was also a selection for compass module mounting, so it seems possible to get it working but without the module I can't confirm

Thank you sir! Gives me another mod to add to my list. So far I want to enable fogs, disable fog dropout with high beams, enable DRLs, global down, compass, and eventually CHMSL camera.
I'd love to be able to use it for TPMS thresholds, so hopefully someone will figure that out.

It's under safety and driving assistance in your settings menu. Remember you have to have the correct mirrors or it will not work. My truck is a 2014 and for some reason when I select the option on my screen it unchecks itself but as far as I know my truck is the only one that seems to have that issue which is annoying. Also remember sometimes the truck has to go through a few sleep cycles before the option will show up on your screen

How do you know if you have the correct mirrors for the tilt in reverse function to work? I have power/heater/folding mirrors currently on my 2500.

Normally the Laramie and higher trims are the only ones that come with the memory mirrors. To make sure you need to pop off the door panel and if the white mirror plug has more than 4 wires in it you have memory mirrors.

Well, gents, I've apparently screwed something up on my truck. Leave it to me to mess it up.

I got the security bypass harness installed and proceeded to play around with AlfaOBD.
I made sure logging was turned on and also got out my notepad to write down all the changes. I also took a screenshot of all the BCM settings before starting.
These are the things I played with:

1. "Display Compass Heading Present" changed to yes (compass heading instantly showed up in EVIC)

2. "Program Tire Size" I was looking around but didn't change anything. It was set to LT275/70R18E A/S

3. "Update Pressure Thresholds" I knew it wouldn't get rid of the warning light, but I changed it to 65 psi rear just to see if it changed on the EVIC (it did change) I changed it back to 80 psi.

Went for a drive to test out the compass and it appears to work correctly. Everything was normal on the drive.

I left the dongle plugged into OBD port on the test drive and I left the app open. When I got back, I shut off the truck and whatever it was on last I hit start by accident. I don't remember what it was on, but I think was on the last thing I played with (which should have been Update Pressure Thresholds but I honestly can't remember)

Here's where the problems started!
The cluster dinged and came up with 4 messages:
Service Trailer Brake System
Service Airbag System
Service Antilock Brake System
Service Electronic Braking System

I went to check and clear codes but there were none. I hit clear anyway.
Also tried to go back over the things I had looked at. I double checked tire size and it was the same as original ( I didn't change anything here originally) I selected the same size tire again and hit start and next to run the procedure anyway.

I went back to Pressure Thresholds and they were set 60F 80R as original. i went thru the procedure to change them anyway.

I didn't mess with the Compass because everything was normal on the test drive.

I thought that I'd just compare the logs and easily figure out what was different. I sent the log to my email and printed it out, then proceeded to look over every BCM setting, comparing to the original screenshots.
Everything matched up.

I disconnected the batteries for about an hour (out of desperation) and it did nothing.

Any ideas? This is the reason I shouldn't stay up late working on stuff when my brain is tired...

Please help if you have any ideas.

Ok, I finally figured it out. If this will help anybody else, then my frustration was worth it. ..

I connected to each module that I thought would cause each particular error message on my EVIC.

First , the ABS

It wouldn't leery me clear the fault code.
"Vehicle Configuration Mismatch"
got my attention, so I moved to the next module. ..

Next, the Airbag.

It wouldn't let me clear this fault code either.

"Vehicle Line Mismatch" really got me to head scratching!

I poked around some more and tried to find something that was related to Vehicle Configuration Mismatch or Vehicle Line Mismatch. So back into the BCM and I found a setting for Vehicle Line, which sounded promising

Holy crap Batman, I somehow changed the dang vehicle to a Sprinter van! !!
No wonder it didn't work right!
I changed it back to Ram 2500-DJ
and everything is back to normal.

Lesson: don't stay up way too late when you're half brain-dead and prone to make touchscreen errors and not remember what you did, lol.

Fortunately, the power of this software that makes it so dangerous also doubles as a powerful troubleshooting tool to fix stupid mistakes.

Sorry I took up so much space on this thread, but maybe it will help somebody avoid the same mistake

@Gibbs So were you able to change the size and pressure in the end? These are the 2 options I am really interested to see if they work. So far it does not appear they do from what I have seen reported?

I know to get the tire pressure to work you need to reset the RF Hub to finalize the setting (you need you vehicle PIN to do this). I believe another tried but got a invalid PIN message or something like that?

I had the exact same using AE a few months agon.I changed the vehicle line by mistake on my 2016 ram awile back and i had the same error codes and my bcm was corrupt .
I changed it back but it was a one way street .Dealership had to reflash my bcm twice to get fixed .
It’s nice to know that alpha obd is not just a one way and no return like AE.
I learnt my lesson on that mistake to be very careful .
Glad you got it all figured out .

Thanks. I almost deleted my post but went ahead and put the solution to my ham ****** mistake. I'm not afraid to admit when I'm wrong....

So am I ! I was already trying to figure out how to explain to my Ram tech friend what happened.
I assume the compass is just using the GPS signal to display the heading. I guess if I wanted it displayed on the radio, I would need to install the module.

Thank you, me too! I was expecting the worse and was so thankful it returned back to a truck. Sprinter vans look a little unwieldy to me, although it would be handy sometimes for transporting stuff, lol.

I need to get you a screen shot of the tire size screen. I didn't see a way to enter your own value; rather it had a long list of tire sizes pre-populated.

The funny thing is, the last one on the list was Toyo Open Country ATII 35x12.50 !!

I didn't actually change anything in there, I was just looking around.
I remember @chamolie said his friend ran into problems trying to change the tire size, so I left that one alone

When I changed Update Pressure Thresholds to 65 psi rear, it changed the EVIC warning on the dash to say "Fill Rear:65" instead of "Fill Rear:80" but the warning light was still flashing. I didn't note any other errors, but it was late and I was brain dead, lol.

Yes, I did change the tire size back to "BS/FS LT275/70R18E A/S" and afterward had to Clear ALL DTC before ALL errors went away. Did a dump of his System ID afterward and compared with Mine, his truck is 100% now.

I have attached screen shots of ALL programmable tire sizes from the AlfaOBD version 2.0.2
Notice the highlighted selection in the last image, this was the tire size selected to return his 2016 RAM 2500 back to normal...

I've been continuing to experiment with the different DRL settings and I've found one that, while it's listed in the google drive doc as "Known good", does not work on my 2014 CC Express with factory projectors and normal halogen bulbs. The High Beam setting does not appear to work. It takes the setting, but the high beams do not come on as DRLs. (The Turn Signal and Low Beam DRL settings work fine). I drove around with it set to HB for several days to no effect. Not sure if it's the MY, the factory projectors or what. And yes, the High beams do work normally when the headlights are turned on. :) I also tried switching it back one of the other settings, then back to the HB setting again, no change.

2014 1500 CC Express. The BCM was last flashed by the dealer in Sept 2017 to correct TSP 18-072-16 (Permanent Trouble code Lost Contact with BCM) so it should be at the level that was current at that time.

I also ran into another couple of the "turn on light X" functions that do not work. I filed another bug report with the author. I noticed a difference from the such last issue I found though. The last one (left reverse light), no errors were returned. For these I am getting an error from the app that indicates that the ECM rejected the command due to an out of range parameter.

Being as my VP4 was out of a 15' Limited, it came with 5 years of Travel Link and was already under apps. Does the newer 2018 UAQ radios not have Travel Link already in apps? I too enabled this thinking it might be something different than what I already had but seen no change. Unless this is something different.

Adding this and others to known working as well as recent issues/info.
