Just got in an accident

Well it finally happened, thank you New Jersey. I was on my way home and a deer jumped in front of me...it’s pouring here of course...tried to steer....rear got loose and hit a concrete guard rail. Lucky everyone is ok, no airbags deployed. Now waiting on the tow truck to bring it home.

So glad to hear no one was hurt! Also glad to hear no airbag deployments as that always hikes up the repair costs significantly. Keep us posted on the repairs! [emoji41]

I hate those jumping Jersey walls. I’d load the deer up and have it for supper tomorrow night.

I feel your pain, I was in a wreck last month, had to choose, head on at 55 mph or sideswipe a broke down Durango, I picked sideswiped, he was broke down, ass end was way out in road, (No Shoulder) dark road 5 a.m and I saw NO FLASHERS...

Thanks everyone. Dinner is finally served at home now still waiting on the tow truck. They are having some issues getting on the military base and it’s still pouring outside. Hopefully soon my truck will be home and wait till the adjuster can check things out. It doesn’t help that we are under a flash flood warning what it’s been coming down hard for the last few hours.

Glad everyone is ok. I know your area. Ton of deer all the time.

Last weekend in that area coming home from Island Beach State park had about a dozen deer on the side of the road in about a mile stretch there on 70. Driving by everyone saying to myself just stay there and I'll take care of you come deer season....lol

I have Geico as far as insurance. Just got the call that the tow was cancelled due to the weather and the roads being flooded. Looks like it’s going to sit where it’s at until tomorrow morning.

Calling it a night. My wife is finally home from work after maneuvering many flooded roads and I feel like an ass not being about to go pick her up if need be. This is what the roads look like on base. Rain has stopped but shows 100% in less than an hour. Tomorrow morning I’ll head out and take some pictures of the RAM weather prevailing and try to find someone who can tow it.

As a rule of thumb I apply the breaks in a careful manner and take the deer out no steering or swerving for me. Deer are much more forgiving than guard rails and ditches. I have almost up to double digits. Glad everyone is okay.

Trying to sleep but not going to happen, mind is going a million places. Everyone says they are fine but as you said we will see. Hopefully nothing hurts in the morning.
