how did I miss that, so revolutionary landing a spent rocket. That's what happens when you use private industry for your stuff.

I heard that the AF can land airplanes by clicking a button half way around the world.......sounds cool, wonder if it’s true [emoji2371][emoji851][emoji41]

I cant stop watch this and thinking about how much he is beating Physics to achieve this.

This is insane.

My father told me to buy stock in SpaceX.

Consider how much the ability of computer processing has advanced in 40ish years to give this capability. I remember going to the aerospace museum in seattle & walking through the space capsule & looking at the computers & being amazed people would stake their lives on that technology.

But no doubt, this is the stuff of sci fi which some believe is largely "real science of our future".

The Apollo space craft had 0.0043 MHz of processing power, which means your iPhone has over 100,000 times more processing power than a vehicle that got our guys to the moon and back.

Like FFS, what are we doing and why are we not on Mars yet.......

So what level of iron in a UOA do you guys thinks is bad? There was a lot more idling than normal on this interval. Going to cut that out. Also ran it for a whole lot longer than I ever have. Normally change around 5k. Took it to 8500 this time. Wont do that again. 8ae3b456c4c6396d718ef25c4f0e32ca.jpg

I hate to mention this but another thing that video showed is how f'd you guys in snow states are, when the oil is cold it is so thick, I can't imagine how that cam is getting oil. I believe perhaps maybe what corey is doing is something to consider, he is on 0w30 in winter, 5w30 in summer. Maybe even stick with 0w30 if it kills the tick.

Thats very interesting. My UOA and yours are proof showing how important it is to monitor this stuff. We both have 2014s. I have more miles (85.5K vs 65k on yours) with very different analyses. Just my opinion, but i would be freaked out with those iron wear numbers. If you look at my reports (last 2 are on there), i went like 7300 and then 8100 miles. its suggested i go 10k next time based on my report. i still had 2.8 TBN after 8100 miles. Something is wearing that oil down faster. So something is very different with our trucks. I try not to idle much. I do not drive on the highway, all back roads. i do make sure to keep my rpms up. I manually shift all the time. Stock programming will bog the engine every chance it gets. My metal wear numbers were the same or better from the last report.

we need to know more about your truck. First time on redline? I wouldnt swear off 8500 miles on redline 5w30, unless you have to idle a lot. Maybe that will show improvements. Try for less idling with a 5500-6000 change. What filter are you running? Thanks for posting your report.

If i still have this truck this winter i WILL be switching to 0w30. Lubeguard didnt help any at all with start up chatter this winter, so im curious how 0w30 will do. I dont necessarily feel that running 5w30 caused any damage, uoa shows engine is pretty good, but i do want to reduce the start up chatter if possible. But i will not sacrifice the protection redline 5w30 gives. Like we have discussed before, hot idle protection is #1, then start up chatter...etc. Im going to be doing UOA from here on out. I urge anyone else willing to do it to keep posting them here. Its great information for us all. I think slowly we are starting to put pieces of the puzzle together. If it isnt all for stopping ticks, or damaged motors, its allowing us to guage the health of our motors somewhat, so if we see things going bad, we can choose to do something proactive (sell, trade etc) vs reactive after the damage, which is much more costly. Dump these messed up motors back to fca and let them pay for it.
