Keep an eye on the rear corners of your headliner after a few washes. Unless you beefed up the gasket on the new light you may get water in there. The OEM light gasket is always tighter.
I avoided tuning for that reason and the price on the Diablo tuners back then. Since my truck is very very clean and very well maintained I think I have a decent shot at the warranty. It's just a rabbit hole and there's no telling how deep it goes.
I'll get a video of this later and see what...
This is an interesting post. This is definitely an engine speed noise (increases with RPM's). It may not be a rod knock but that's my gut.
I've been in the military for 29 years (still active) and worked my ass off to afford my toys and yeah I do ok as a CWO5, BUT..I have a 2004 Avalanche with...
Thanks for all the feedback and mild ribbing..lol.
I am concerned about the mods (lift primarily). I did all that early so the engine/power train would break-in with the new weight etc.
As far as maintenance and beating on it. I've always had either Mobile 1 or Redline oil in it. Tried Royal...
The failure hasn't occurred yet but it's knocking so bad from the bottom end that I know it's coming. Reason for failure? I drive the s***t out of my truck!! lol.
I've checked everything I can and have always been thorough and early on oil changes etc. I'm concerned that the dealer will dig...
I've been off the boards for a while but wanted to get the mass opinion on this.
I'm pretty sure I have a bad rod or rod bearing.
Mt truck is a 2015 1500 Sport that I factory ordered, It has every available upgrade including 3.92 gears. It's been on a BDS lift with 35's and a Vararam intake...
Has anyone seen a thread about putting 5th gen tails on a 4th gen? I saw a 19 rebel with some tail lights that would look pretty good on my truck. I seriously doubt they will fit but worth a look.
I ordered from Moe's and don't think he knew of the bracket. I'll make the phone call soon.
So were your holes pre-drilled? Also, it looks like your lights are on the pinch weld. Nice! I wanted to do that but the steps were just too close and kept hitting them.
Moving the brake cable is a very small step. After that you're not taking anything apart but you will be drilling!
I tore into my truck when it had 23 miles on it! Doing the work yourself will teach you a lot and feel great.
MOD ON!
Yes it's necessary.
You're essentially going to lift it up a couple of inches so the step and linkages don't hit it. Once you put on the adapter bracket you just loosen the cable until it comes apart. The key here is using a sharpie to mark the threads on the adjuster so when you tighten it...
I don't want to hijack your thread but I just did the Retroshop HID install on my 15 and so far everything is great. If you decide to do it, I'm down in San Diego and may be able to help.
