My vote would be to go with a DSP and keep the stock head unit. A good dsp is going to remove any EQ settings from the head unit anyways so that update or any future ones like it shouldn't affect it.
With a tuned DSP, a bit of sound deadening, a good pair of components, a couple 10" subs, and...
3.5 years on mine now (75k km) , with some noticeable chips in it now where the chrome underneath is showing through, but still looks a lot better than I expected. Going to either look for a black grill or paint it in the spring.
It's also been through some pretty big temperature swings (-40C...
For the amount of money you have already put into the system with that LOC, amp, box, and subs you should really consider upgrading the stock speakers. You've obviously already run fresh wiring to them from the amp. You wouldn't even have to spend much at all on a set of speakers to see an...
Just installed the Billet Tech Catch Can, will update with photos when I start having to dump it! Easiest mod I've ever done, hoses were exact length needed and was installed in under 15mins.
I have a fox box as well with 2 10" Image Dynamics subs. I've been really pleased with the sound from it. Best tonality I've ever had from my low end which I won't attribute 100% to the box but it certainly didn't hurt the setup.
One of those 8 output channels will no doubt be able to be assigned as sub-out with the software, don't need/want a sub in would rather have all full frequency signals coming in so you can adjust your own crossover points. My Bit Ten is like this but with fewer outputs and twice the price (more...
Anyone seen this? Thoughts? I think I'm going to try it out with a build I'm working on right now in my project car. That is an amazing price for a DSP and remote with as many features as it advertises. The only concern is the lack of any information about it anywhere, would love to see what the...
That's going to be a nice sounding setup with that gear and pretty similar to mine. I would disconnect the dash speakers and not run any in there, the SQ does suffer from deflections off the windshield.
That being said we all have our personal preference as to what sounds good and you may...
I have that black MF system and have been running it for about a year. Love the look of the black 5" tips on it, however, just yesterday I noticed some finish coming off one of the tips. I'll take some pics and post them if I get a chance today.
Just got mine today and I am VERY impressed with the fit and finish of the product. A perfect fit for my phone in it's case and very snug in the business card holder. Also I don't know why I figured the angle would be different and that it would cover up a lot of usable space in the center...
I have that Amazon set, they are nice and strong but I do find them to be a little thicker than I would like, I'm probably going to shop around for a thinner set myself.
Personally, I think if this is the route I was going I would opt to spend the money I would have spent on an LOC and put that into a better amp with high-level inputs. I don't know what budget you are working with for this but here is what I did with my wife's vehicle:
Hertz HDP5 Amp putting...
Several people have had good success with the AudioControl products if you are just looking for a Line Out Converter, something like this:
AudioControl LC2iB (Black) 2-channel line output converter for adding amps to your factory system at Crutchfield.com
From here though the question will...
