    brakes squealing at 18k miles?

I apologize. I do not know why I said "because they are a little cheaper". I understand that for heavy-duty and performance that semi-metallic is best. It just produces a lot of brake dust and noise. On my vehicles I have always used ceramic. In my truck, the most I tow is a trailer with a few...

    brakes squealing at 18k miles?

Mine were squealing like crazy by around 10k. I had enough and bought good front and rear ceramic pads. The factory puts metallic pads on from the factory. I am assuming because they are a little cheaper. The best is, all the time you spend cleaning the black brake dust off your wheels can be...

Dyno tune vs. Jay Greene tune

I used Jay on my last truck (2005) and the results were remarkable. I am just waiting for a tuner for my '17 6.4 and I will use him again. I literally check everyday on the Diablo site, sometimes multiple times.

    Lifter noise

I am due for an oil change soon. I just ordered the Pennzoil. Does redline make a 0w-40?

One Year Update - A Fully Deleted Cummins

There are no emission testing for inspections in your state? I own a 6.4 Hemi now, I love it. However, if it were possible to get a diesel here in MA, delete all emissions...I would trade my truck in for a brand new cummins in a heartbeat. You used to be able to fool the inspections, but now you...

    Lifter noise

I was thinking of trying different oil, but from what I have read and been told, these 6.4s are picky on oil and you should use the recommended pennzoil.

    Engine build...

If i stick with stock heads, probably put better valve spings in, and just with the stroker kit...how much power am i looking at? I'd assume around 430-450?

    Lifter noise

Do any of you guys get the lifter noise on first start up? I have almost 12k on my 6.4 now. It has been doing it since new pretty much, not all the time though its random and will only do it for about 2 seconds. But, 2 seconds is a long time. I know there were lifter problems in the 3rd gens.

    Engine build...

I have the opportunity to get a 5.7 hemi out of a 2004 truck with about 125,000, pretty much easy miles. It has one bad lifter, but the customer wants a new engine. I want to know how someone would build it that has done it before or knows someone who has. Bore/stroke, power adders, part brands...

    Bad ecm

The first thing that I would try is unplugging the PCM and see if it still blows the fuse. If it does not blow, the PCM is most likely your culprit and shorting out internally.

    Better brake pads

I only have 11k on mine and they squeak like a *******. Just bought good ceramic pads (forget what brand, but they were very good ones). The stock pads are semi-metallic. When they get hot, they squeak and make a lot of brake dust. Ceramics make no noise and literally no brake dust.

    Transmission noise

Any of you guys that got the transmission recall done. Have you noticed a louder than normal 'click' going into park? My truck, possibly has always done it, maybe I just didn't notice. They only have to drop the pan and the valve body for the recall I believe. So the linkage could not be out of...

6.4 rough at idle after a couple minutes

That's good if it was just bad gas.

6.4 rough at idle after a couple minutes

P0171 is a lean mixture code for bank one (pre cat, at the air/fuel sensor) and P2097 is a rich mixture codes for bank one (post cat, at the O2 sensor). Basically, the engine detects it is getting too much air, so it adds fuel and the post cat sensor detects the added fuel and throws a rich...

    Brake Noise

Do any of you guys get brake noise when they start warming up? I understand the OE pads are semi-metallic and it is normal for some noise, especially when hot. But, mine makes so much noise it is really getting annoying. To solve the problem I ordered some Power Stop carbon fiber/ceramic pads...
