Thanks for the insight - the 1999+ Sport grille was already in the plan, the info will help other readers that may stumble upon this thread, although it the 94-98 standard grill will work if you don't mind a gap at the top of the 99+ sport bumper, but that would bug the heck out of me! I always...
Thanks again for the quick replies and useful information. It seems that my site probably just doesn't have the right side outer brace in stock. I will most likely be ordering the part from LMCtruck.com even though it's $10 more than my site. I appreciate the help and will update this thread on...
Thanks! Great info and pics right there @kpd12. So it seems I would need 3 & 4 as the main brackets for my reinforcement bar for sure, and 5 would be used as brace supports for the ends of the bumper. Now, seeing as my website only lists #5 as "left side" and no right side, for the outer braces...
I know, I know... Beaten to death in forum land, but I still have no exact answer to my question: Which of these brackets for the 2nd gen Ram do I NEED to install my 99 Sport front bumper cover and reinforcement bar on my 98 Laramie? (Please type the numbers I will need, obviously not the first...
Thanks for all of the info guys, but it did end up being the driver's side door ajar button. I performed one last inspection sweep starting with the simplest possibility and working inward, and I went straight to the driver's side door ajar button and pressed it fully in and about 20 seconds...
Success in the junkyard! I found the missing connector from the two exposed wires and it's a match. Pulled it from a 2001 Ram 1500 "power outlet". That answers half of my question. Here's a few pics of the harness I found:
Now, as for the mystery red harness - from the few 2G Ram 1500's...
I don't have a multimeter available right now, but
I'll hit it with the ole' test light after work just to see what's drawing current and if either of the wires are constant - the two exposed wires should only be drawing current with the key "on" if that really is for the upper "power outlet"...
Thanks for a quick reply. Yeah, my fog lights work fine. My fog button is located in the same spot as the passenger air bag switch and there seems to be a nearly identical red connector for the fogs, but it's plugged in and working. These wires are coming from behind the power outlet above that?
Hey guys, just wondering of anyone knew exactly what's missing from the back of my upper "Power Outlet" switch in my 1998 Ram 1500 SLT Laramie 4X4. It hasn't worked since I got it, so I decided to investigate. There is a red mystery connector, and there are two wires (black/orange & red/yellow)...
@Merc225hp You da' man. Now I'm currently researching all kinds of problems and info on this "Central Timing Module" mystery box - it sounds like a very likely suspect, as other sad souls 98+ symptoms seem very similar that I am reading. As for you other guys, thanks for the input as well...
Much appreciated. I'll be sure to check it out - is there any way to see it/get to it from looking up under the driver's side dash with a light, without removing panels?
Hey guys, new to the forums here and new to the truck world. I did a quick search here to see if I could find any info regarding the "Accessory Dimmer Relay" on my "new" 1998 Ram 1500 SLT Laramie 4x4, but came up empty handed. I've been reviewing various websites for a little while now and still...
