Man I would love to head up y’all’s way. Idk if the half ton would like it too much though. Lol It has done ok so far but I haven’t gotten more than an hour away from home. We are planning a Tennessee trip for June & my dad told me “yea, your truck will pull the trailer 10 hrs away...but you...
I logged back in just to drop in on you & Jay. I bailed on social media a few months back. Just got sick of it & deleted every damn account I had. Probably the only millennial that has said to hell with social media. It is a cancer on society.
Yes I still have the Mustang, no I haven’t modded...
I am not entirely sure how that 5100 shock would be with just a 2" rear drop. I had a 2/4 kit & they worked well for that. It would be the same as running a Belltech Street Performer(length wise extended & compressed but not valving & so on) with 2" rear springs which I think people have done.
I have the 3.6/8 speed in a 2015 Grand Cherokee & for a family suv its quick & nimble & sounds great for a v6. The Jeep configured the way it is is just as fast as my 04 rc Hemi was stock. That is saying something for a v6 suv. They both weigh about the same at 4800 lbs also.
I did both & the AFE y pipe gained a good bit over that. 1st I had the stock cats with a Magnaflow y in place of the factory crushed y. I picked up a little pep & sound by doing that. Was worth it. But then I replaced that with the aluminized AFE y & wow what a difference. It picked up a...
Downshifting kills those transmissions but I dont necessarily think what your talking about with going up hills & such will kill 1. I went through 2 in my 04. I just learned to only go wot from a dead stop & drive it easy when passing & stopped going wot from a roll.
But yes with a 5/6 speed 4.10 or 4.56 gears are your friend. I had both on my 2004 rc Hemi along with an Edge 3000 tc & the 4.56's believe it or not for dd use were great.
Please elaborate on how you feel your fact is proven? That it took all of 1 yr for the time to be bested? That trans tuning wasnt available for 8 speed when Matt ran that? Let alone the fact that Kyle only makes it to a 1/4 mile track maybe once a yr due to him being several hours from 1 so the...
The 3.6/8 speed is no slouch either. Its a good happy medium. Our 2015 3.6/8 speed is just as fast & peppy as my 2004 Ram rc 5.7 was stock. That is saying something for a family suv
You mean around the time trans tuning finally became available for the 8 speed? Or you mean why did it take so long for the 8 speed to play catch up on a truck that was back halved & had more weight dropped than the 11 sec 8 speed truck? Or when people started seeing the light that 3.92's are...
I know most everyone has the big 4 door & 4x4 trucks that use their trucks as an actual truck but here is my take on it. I have a reg cab 5.7, 8 speed with 3.92's. I might actually use the truck for....well... an actual truck maybe once every 6 months. Mine is what I consider mildly modded but...
A good, lengthy but good video on how each style header works. Watch videos on scavenging & choose what you want based off that & your budget & you application(meaning what is the truck used for & what are you goals)
The Jeep SRT manifolds do bolt up to the heads but dont line up with the y pipe. The y pipe will need to be reworked to line up with the SRT manifolds. Not horrible but not an exact replacement
