    A/C question on 2001 2500 diesel.

Dump the oil out of the old comp into a measuring cup. Usally an ounce and a half is a good amount. Also when you recharge watch what you buy as alot of the cans now have oil added to them, generally an ounce or two per can so make sure you don't put too much in that way.

    5.2 rebuild questions

Yes, create engine. To be honest unless your building a special purpose engine it really isn't worth the hassle, machine work and cost of kit vs dropping an engine in that has a warranty. Find you a Jasper engine or other well known engine rebuilder and pick up a short block, slap your heads...

Blown head gasket or heater core?

White smoke out the tail pipe is a head gasket, it would throw a code as the coolant will ruin the o2 sensor. But to be safe I'd replace the t-stat first, I honestly don't think it will fix the smoke out the tail pipe but I have been wrong before =)

Won't start, just a single click

Bad starter, loose ground or a terminal that isn't tightened. Personally I'd start by checking all the connections at the battery and starter, if they are tight and not gummed up then you will have to pull the starter and bring it to your local parts store and have it tested.

    screw removal in dash

Here's what AllData has to say REMOVAL WARNING: ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AIRBAGS, REFER TO AIR BAGS AND SEAT BELTS/AIR BAGS BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY STEERING WHEEL, STEERING COLUMN, OR INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPONENT DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. FAILURE TO TAKE THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN...

    dual gas tank setups

I like your idea jb I actually thought about this myself. I'd go with the twin tanks myself instead of the extra large single tank. But to be honest I don't take the truck on long enough hauls to need a 2nd tank.

    Stock Throttle Body Mod

As Okeis stated yes you can, as I did. Bought mine for just under $100 and modded my kegger when I fixed a plenum leak, took out the divider plate and cut the runners back just slightly. To be honest I did not notice a huge difference in MPG or power slight increase in power and MPG but not by...

    wet floor

Windshield leaking along the bottom seal, maybe due to rust. I had a Chevelle do this to me, when it would rain the pass side floor would be wet. Didn't think anything about it till I had to have it replaced due to a crack and company told me about leak. Take a garden hose and let it run along...

    Fuel float jammed after accident?

I was going to say they have very little clearance inside the tank for the float so they jam easy with any jarring. Alot of them also don't have tabs and you can install them off just a bit and jam the float.

    Frame welding

I don't see a "patch", I see the upper a arm mount to frame BUT I also see what looks like a cracked frame that has been welded. If you know a body man I'd have him take a look at it. Personally the price of $6,500 with a frame in question would have me walking away but that's just me.

SCT, then 1.7 rollers like what Okies said.

    Throttle Body Question

I got a true 50mm ported TB, added it after SCT, ign box, and many other mods. By it self I don't think you would notice much of a diff BUT if you are running other mods it would add up as a package deal.

    Throttle Body Spacer

^^^^ What he said. A Tuner is your best mod IMO. You need it to see any diff in other bolt on mods as the ECM won't change when you change parts so it is still telling the engine to do the same thing it was doing before. But thats just my 2 cents.

    gear ratio question

^^^^ What he said. That is a "high" gear set, I have the same in my truck. It is good for MPG on HWY driving but not so good for towing or TQ. I want to go down to at least a 3:93 maybe 4:10. But my truck is mainly for play and towing, a good trade off is the 3:73, got a bit of "umph" at low end...
