I rear ended someone today and sent them into the car infront of them. Well that's that. Now my fuel gauge is stuck on full. Could the float have swung up quick and got stuck? If so how would I get it back down.

It could have, but it's not likely...make sure all your grounds are good back there on the pump/sending unit. If they are, you will probably need to replace the whole assembly, which is about $200. Could be something jarred in the cluster too, since you hit them with the front of your truck.

What could it be in the cluster? I'll check the top of the tank tomorrow.

I took Tue cluster out and everything seemed fine. I moved the needle and it went back to full when I turned it on. Any way to test the sending unit?

The only way to test it would be to take it out and with a tester test the resistance...I am not sure what the resistance should be on it though.

Great. I guess i'll have to find time this weekend to do it. Thanks. Hopefully someone can chime in with the numbers.

I fixed it! Turned out it was jammed like I thought. I hit the tank around and it came free.

I was going to say they have very little clearance inside the tank for the float so they jam easy with any jarring. Alot of them also don't have tabs and you can install them off just a bit and jam the float.
