AUX Switch/ Reverse Light/ LED Light Bar Install

So, I've been a bit inactive lately due to getting out of the Marine Corps and starting a new career back home. I finally found some available time to do a few things to the truck. I've added a Hornblasters train horn, Aux reverse lights, a 24" 12000 Lumen light bar and a switch panel. I'll...

2013/2014 SPORT DIY (Partial Tow hooks)

It is "wrong" because that is not how the hooks were designed to mount. You don't have the same amount of room, believe me, I tested both ways. If you trim the valance properly (Flush with the painted surface) and don't use the locator pin there is no deformation. See below.

You do realize that your hooks are on backwards.... Correct? How do you even get a rope in there? This is how mine have been on two trucks now and work properly.

Behind the Grill LED Light Bar

I just did a 24" between my tow hooks. I'll have to take a pic or two.

    My towing test. (10,000 Lbs - 1008 Miles with a 1500)

I did not. Both of the scales I used just gave me total weight. Thank you as well! :favorites13: Mobil 1. Actually going to change it this weekend.

    Arb tree saver strap

16 Feet is WAY too short to accomplish any real task.

    Another RCX 6" lift

Pretty satisfying doing it yourself. I think it looks great! Although I wouldn't be able to help myself and would end up with 37's.

Want to beef up suspension on 1500

For the amount you tow and the fact that ride comfort is important to you, I'd get bags. Mine made a world of difference on my truck towing 12K+ over 1,000 miles. Like others have said, I'd opt for 1,500lb bars for longevity purposes as tongue weight can easily change and you could be at 15%.

Thanks for the comments, all. I hope that my experience can help some of you.

    Lifting but with whom?!

Another plug for Zone. Much happier with my Zone than the RCX kit I installed on a buddy's truck.

    First major tow - ~8000lbs behind a Ram 1500

Agreed. That setup looks pretty light on the tongue weight. You want like 12-15% for that amount of weight.

    Fact Checking!!

The purchase price argument hit the nail on the head. I bought my last Ram that stickered at $45k for $36k OTD and traded it in 4 years later for $26,500 and it needed $3k in repairs. My 2014 Stickered for $51,800 and I paid $42,500 OTD.
