    408k Hemi Rebuild Time

    I bought it with 358k, car fax showed two owners with no major mechanical work done (engine/trans). Upon inspection none of the engine/trans bolts had any sort of indications that any of the bolts have ever been turned. The trans is stock minus an aftermarket (stock) valve body.

    Sounds like either your transfer case gave out or hopefully just the actuator. It's easy to check the actuator. You can unplug the harness and manually direct power straight to the actuator.

    First start up on cold mornings mine shows no oil pressure. I just shut it off and restart then life is great.

    Just maintain it and don't abuse it. My 04 5.7 has 371k and all runs and drives amazing. Wouldn't be scared to take it anywhere.

    I run stock exhaust on my truck so I won't be much help there. My thought are going to a nice reputable muffler shop and pick their brain. They'll be more than happy to try to sell you something.

    Really with any engines now days they sky is the limit. If you really want to modify your 4.7 you should start with head work (valves, springs and cam) while you have all that apart go ahead and do the timing set since they like to fail. Doing this will not only help your performance but...

    The valve body in those transmissions are known for gunking up. Go to your local transmission supply store and ask for a bottle of cleaning Teflon fluid (they'll know what I'm talking about). Pour that in your Trans and you'll notice a huge difference in about 50 miles.

    The best "MOD" for a 4.7l is installing an egg behind the gas pedal. If you depress the throttle too many times without it your motor will go POP!
