    Tow Specs for 2015 Outdoorsman

We are truly very limited with a RAM 1500. Looking at the OP question and the info provided in one post of a 10000+ tow capacity, you would have to be very careful on your hitch weight.

    Ram Box and Fifth Wheel

I have a 1500 CC 6.5' RamBox pickup and the door tag says 1065# Cargo. I barely make it with a 25' bumper pull trailer with a small generator, small compressor and 2 gals of fuel in the bed. Of course I have the RamBoxes with tools and such. Going over scales with the equalizer hitch, full...

Comfortable tow weight (not maximum) for my 2017

I have a 2014 Big Horn 5.7 hemi, 4X4 CC with 6'4" bed and the RamBox Storage. My Cargo limit is 1130 lbs and 7800 tow. It is just DW, me and 3 small dogs in the cab with some camera equipment. Have a 2kw gen, an air compressor (3 gallon size), air hose, extension cord and a small charcoal grill...

POLL: MPG towing 5k pounds travel trailer??

UPDATE After another 2000 miles through the Rockies and the Cascades. Our overall trip average (3500 miles) is 11.9. Yesterday from Roseburg, OR to Portland, OR we did just over 14 mpg. :favorites13: Was really excited about that but is all downhill and slight tail breeze. Tom

POLL: MPG towing 5k pounds travel trailer??

We have a 2014 1500 cc Rambox with 5.7, 3.21 6.5 box. We pull a 25' (28 hitch to bumper) and scaled at 5200 lbs when we left over 1000 miles ago(2 weeks). Across the prairies with little wind we were averaging around 13 +or-. Now that we are in more mountainous country and only 5000 feet so far...

What do you tow with your Ram 1500?

Mine is similar. 2014 1500 CC with 6.5 RAM box 5.7 with 3.21. I tow a "dry weight if 4100" trailer and scales say it is at 5100 lbs when we travel. Tows like a dream and average about 10.5 mpg overall while towing. This rig is pretty well maxed out due to the low cargo load of 1065 lbs. With a...

    First tow with new 1500

First long distance tow with the Ram. Ran across scales and vehicle is at max all except tow capacity. Trailer weight loaded is 5820 lbs. Truck is at max on cargo, not tow. Rode and handled like a dream. Knew the trailer was there and that's a good thing, would not be good to forget and not...

    Trailer sway

You could also look if the boat can be moved forward. The front winch post is adjustable. Although a cross member and support at the rear may not make that possible. Then move axle to rear.

    8 speed auto park

Is there a way to temporarily disable the 8 speed from automatically going into park when the engine is shut off in neutral? Makes it real inconvenient when you are supposed to shut it off in the car wash. What about the carwash when an attendant puts it into the line? Could create an issue...

    RAM payload miss-information

Here is what the "builder" document shows for my truck. Truck has the 3.21 and even this document doesn't know whether it should be 1260 lbs or 1360 lbs. So where did the 200-300 lbs go? Problem is, if ever checked, I will be over weight because they will go by the sticker on the door...

    RAM payload miss-information

Got my 2014 1500 Big Horn 5.7 Hemi. Looking up on the web for the payload and towing by the VIN does NOT reflect anything close to what the label on the door post says. Door post says maximum of cargo and passengers 1050 lbs. Seems odd, but I guess its my fault for not checking the truck and...
