Back in 09 only certain higher end models had a cabin filter. The air box is the same on most all models so the area that needs cutting out for one is there but they never had a filter put in. You can buy a kit online that allows you to fit filter in and then seal the hole up nice and all like...
I have always ran 87 in all my Rams. Current one has 239k always on 87. I believe the manual even suggests 87 so don't know why anyone uses 89 or 91 all the time.
I live in the desert southwest. I dont have a PW but Rams older version of the 1500 off road model, a TRX4. Within 10 minutes I can be on unmaintained truck roads. These roads meander thru the mountains and can take you to other towns and cities. Up in the mountains desert turns to wooded land...
I go to the dealer. If you go to the dealer and ask for the Mopar Service Contract prices, you will find that by buying the contract which is usually 3-4 oil changes over the course of a year is much cheaper than DIY or any quick change place. Problem is most these trucks, like the HEMI take 7...
I feel many know this now, but maybe not. Years ago this was never a issue cause there were not all these environmental devices added to tanks. In modern cars you really shouldn't ever over fill your tank. Keep in mind every vehicle is different and so is every pump. The advice of always...
That is no HEMI Tick. You may hear a small tick and that would be the exhaust manifold leaking. The HEMI Tick is very noticeable and you can hear it even with the hood closed while sitting in the drivers seat. Its a very pronounced tap tap tap
While the manifold has been a issue in the past its been somewhat remedied. The bigger issue thats been around for years and is known as the HEMI Tick is much worse. It involves the lifters. I myself just had the Tick. According to my mechanic he's only ever seen it on those with over 200k miles...
I have owned Rams for years now. I have heard from multiple people over the years that the trannys suck. My personal experience has been different of course. My first Ram was a 2005 that I bought in 2008 with 19k on it. 2 years later with 55k on it I traded it in for a 2007 Ram. It had about 60k...
Ok I see what your saying and didn't realize there was a actual PW section. However, I still think its a hard comparison since you comparing apples to oranges so to speak. To date the PW is the best 2500 based truck for off roading even when stock. So nothing really ever compares to the PW...
Im very confused. I looked up the link you sent and it is written all over the page that it does not fit a 5.7 HEMI. I need a new tube and all for a 5.7 myself with short headers installed and am having a really difficult time finding something. Any help be greatly appreciated.
I dont agree. Yes, the Raptor is a glorified dune runner and that is all its good at. It sucks at off roading and its terrible on the road. Ram has always been better than that. The TRX is going to be more powerful than the Raptor which will kill that success and its 100% more geared to off road...
