Either a tuner to turn it completely off, or you have to have the sport gear selection and just change it to put it in 8th gear and leave it there while you're driving. If you do that though you have to remember to put it in 8th gear every time you switch the transmission to drive.

I know, sound ludicrous since most people want to kill MSD but I love it for saving $$$$.

All kinds of engine requirements are needed before MDS can be active, this includes certain engine/trans/oil temps be reached before it can be engaged. I don't think you would be wanting to start a truck from a stop using 4 cylinders.

Maybe not start it from a stop with 4 cyl, but I'd think idling in 4 cyl mode would be great, especially in stop and go traffic.

I wish these trucks have the auto shut off at stop lights instead of eco mode. I feel like I waste so much fuel sittting at long stop lights.
