Bed dividers (2x4, 2x6, 2x8)

Owners manual shows several options for installing cut to fit 2x size lumber to divide bed for loading.

My 2017 short bed seems to be missing the molded section at the front of the bed (#1 and #2 in picture).

Can people post pics of installed 2x in all configurations shown in manual?

I don't see a particular use for the slots and bed dividers as i feat that the won't hold enough to trust them.
I made some for my first pickup truck and never used them as they would look as they will fall out and not be stable anchored.
I have now a flip over bedxtender HD MAX from AMP and it not expensive, looks good,does his job and is easy to remove.

I just wanted to toss plywood on top of the bed dividers and then add foam cushion with sleeping bags for two people under a camper shell.

Hoping the dividers gave me room for storage under the plywood.

I had a friend that had a little Nissan Frontier that he did this with. Built up the platform with 2x4s and plywood and put an air mattress on top of that. Then he built drawers to hold his stuff under the bed. He then put a camper top on it and 2 people could easily sleep in it and have storage.

The bed "divider" thingy that came with my truck is the BOMB!!! Love that thing!

These are handy and I use them often. I made one that goes in the forward slots to transport bicycles and another one for the aft slots when you just have a small item you want to keep in the aft area of the bed. I only have a pic of the bike carrier currently.

I don't have a molded spot in the front of my bed like you show in pictures. Maybe because I have a short bed? I don't know....

If you have the short short bed you won’t have front slots

i put a 2x6 in the one next to the gate. good for stopping stuff like chainsaws, 5gal water jugs etc from sliding around.
