They come with a template for 3rd generation. You can use it. I just thought the lights looked to far back. So I moved them up almost 2 inches.
Also 3rd generation had a harness on the passenger side. 4th gen do not. I create a wire harness in series. The directions show you how as well.

Thanks!!
It took awhile to get the nerve to drill the first hole. Once the first was done there was no turning back.
As for rust. I put some touch up paint around the hole as well as thread lock on the screws.

Thanks!!
About 4 really good coats.
The only prep was using some 0000 steel wool and soap and water. Just make sure its dry.

Put a set on mine about 3 weeks ago... it was pretty easy. The directions that come with them are for the 3rd gen trucks so had to make my own measurements. The hardest part was sacking up to drill the first hole in the truck... lol

I used soap and water. Cleaned it. Used a heat gun to make sure it was dry. I sprayed a coat. On everything badges and handles. Then went over it with the heat gun on low holding it about 10 inches away. Let sit for another 20 minutes.
I did this for 5 coats...

I dont know if I applied it correctly, but I sprayed my chrome emblems and handles with plastidip.
It looked pretty EPIC!!! When I say looked I say that because the door handles I painted were starting to come off after getting in and out of my truck in 1 day. My emblems grabbed all my towel...
