We lived on a crappy dirt road for 15 years and I ran those KO2's and really liked them. Great traction and fairly quiet on the highway. When we moved here to real paved streets and the KO2's wore out went to Michelin LTX AT2's for the quiet ride. I did like those KO2's a lot though.
We lived on a crappy dirt road when we had our 25' travel trailer so I put Michelin LTX /AT2 E series and really like these tires. Decently quiet, good traction. Now we live in suburbia and no dirt roads so if I could afford it I would run the Michelin Defender for the little better ride.
I went to Michelin LTX AT2s when I wanted a load range E tire towing our 5000lb travel trailer. We live on a dirt/mud road and these tires do great in mud, snow and highway. The Michelin Defenders are great too if you do mostly highway or paved streets and they are a bit quieter and slightly...
Speaking from personal experience, when we were living on a dirt road in Arizona I really liked the KO2's on my 2012 1500. Very good tire and not too much noise. Here in Oregon we don't even see dirt roads anymore so when the KO2's needed replacing I had Michelin LTX AT2's put on and they are a...
Great post, thanks for the writeup. I went to Michelin LTX AT2's in the LT size and am very happy with them. But, can you elaborate on the chalk tire method for tire pressure? I run 40-42 psi when not towing or heavy load as Discount Tire recommended, the sticker on the door says 35 psi stock. I...
Hi, following your exhaust post. My exhaust guy put a cross pipe in to eliminate the factory squashed merge pipe, 2-36" glass pack mufflers and left the rear pipes and resonators stock. My previous setup was true dual exhau with shorter mufflers like Corsa that left me with such a drone that I...
I originally bought my Leer topper to help with wind resistance when towing our 25' travel trailer. While it may or may not have helped is open to debate because of wind, load and what not, I think it helped a little. We have since sold our trailer and don't tow anymore but I can't count the...
I've got 5000 miles on my set of Michelin LTX's now with no sign of wear. Great riding tire, smooth and dang quiet for an LT tire. We towed a 25' 6000lb travel trailer for years with these tires (this is our 2nd set on this truck) and they are good solid towing tires. Sure a little pricey but I...
Excellent! I had true dual exhaust, x pipe and long glass packs on my Ram for years and loved it. The longer glass packs were mellow and the x pipe really smoothed out the engine. I did lose some low end torque with no headers but it wasn't much. Then I got old and my hearing couldn't take the...
I like option #2 if you're going to use the silver 6.4 badge. If you use a badge with red in it, either #1 or #3 would look good too. I found these "dodge" badges on Ebay and used them for the old school look which most guys don't seem to like but I do.
In any case, good move to add a good...
Bummer! It doesn't look that bad from a body shop perspective, let us know the quote when you get it. I backed up into my brother's gas station metal pipe in front of the gas pump once. Embarrassing and costly too! Good luck!
Well, here it goes. I know Ram is a Ram is an FCA but I thought it would be funny, and old school, to do what I did to my badges on the tailgate, front fenders and grille. I like it but I can't wait to hear from the rest of you!
I have the same tires on my '12 Ram; my travel trailer weighs 5000lbs loaded. My tire guy at Discount Tire said to do 45 psi when not towing and 60 psi when towing; I suspect you guys with trailers in the 8-9000lb range should use 65psi.
Sounds like you're experiencing throttle lag. Our trucks have fly-by-wire gas pedals; a sensor at the gas pedal sees how much pressure you are using on the gas pedal and adjusts the throttle electronically with a 1 second or more delay built in. There are 2 ways we all take care of that throttle...
I've given some thought to doing that as well for towing our trailer but don't know where to start. Looking forward to some others chiming in..............
