I don't live in a commie state so no inspection.
My 01 no longer has a cat problem.
To get around the cel light I installed two spark plug non foulers in the rear o2sensor bung.
The Napa has those non foulers. One will have to be drilled out to clearance the end of sensor.
I will admit though...
The only thing about the posiloc is the placement of the cable.
My foot bumps into it when switching from brake to gas and back n forth.
I only wear a 11 1/2 shoe so that might piss you off.
I used the template supplied with the kit so it should be in the right spot.
If you get the hole off...
I'm not sure that one problem would have anything to do with the other.
My 01 has a mechanical linkage for the transmission.
As far as the vents and probably your cruise, you will need to look for a leak.
If you can't find a leak then I built a vac reserve to help my worn out vent actuator and...
You can also buy "spark plug non foulers", and put the two of them under the 02sensor. One of them will need to be drilled out to clearance the tail of the sensor. One wasn't enough to get the sensor away from the exhaust flow on my 01. I didn't want the sensor just hanging around somewhere.
T just so you know, there will be about a dozen websites with those manifolds on there. The M1 2 barrel and M1 4 barrel.
Not a single one of them has those in stock. I called a few of em.
I even contemplated learning aluminum welding and welding up an Entilbrock {spelling} with weld up bungs...
May or maynot help. In my hanes manwell, it says to reset the tps after replacing it. I think you reset the computer then depress the throttle all the way.
Mom was here and tossed my house while I was sickly so no idea where the hanes book went for now
So friends, where is the recommended place to purchase a long block at?
Several outfits online I'm looking at.
A rebuilt would be fine.
Still a few weeks before I can really work on the truck because, surgery healing.
Just making plans while I heal up.
A 5.2 to go in a 01.
Sure I'd love to get...
Ok so here I am dreaming and figuring.
After diving in to redo my plenum, I discovered that my cam was shot.
And I am pricing long block 5.2s on the intertubes. Cause heads+cam$$ and no experience, might be cheaper to put a longblock in then mess around with it.
Then the thought hit me like a...
My hughs super doper plenum plate was warped. Was going to redo it because it blew again. Friend asked, did you check the plate before putting it on? Heck no I said, I just slapped it on then back together. Just saying.
Hard to say if I did or didn't Loctite them last go around. I have a hard time remembering what I did yesterday not alone what I did when I did the repair.
The factory keggar will be the replacement.
The one I did the repair with had the vaccum ports in differing spots.
eta: It might help if...
I think I had the felpro gaskit. Looks just like the felpro kit I got at the NAPA.
I followed a hanes for the torque sequence and values.
My theory is that a bit of vibration and those washers that were sharp, bit into the aluminum plate and then the bolts worked enough loose to lose integrity...
Ok so I got to thinking. {I know bad right?}
Those washers included are the cheaper ones with sharp edges on one side.
What if those bit into the aluminum of the hughs plate and the bolts loosened up later on?
I actually have this same exact problem.
Did the hughs kit.
And she started burning oil again.
Today I got the intake off and the gaskit is blown. {not the steel inner just the outside paper looking stuff}
Not as much oil as the ops pic in the intake.
I didn't use any sealant like hughs said...
The axel to ground won't change in my scenario. What am I missing? Maybe mine isn't stock i'll have to look.
DD, whose grill guard is that you have there? My truck is just something I drive to work but the damn deer here like to kamakazi out in front of us. I may make one...
Who sells that and do they sell one a man would like better than the pointy thinger kind? Can you hose a deer at 70mph with it and come out ok? What is done with the air bag sensor or is that back in the frame some where?
Friends, what the best way to lower a 01 4x4?
Truck is a regular cab short box.
Can I just remove the blocks on top of the axels and drop it that way?
I don't want to loose ground clearance just drop the body down what it appears like a factory body lift from those spacers. Factory everything...
Yea. There is a piece of crap bearing under the brake booster in the steering collum.
Rock solid is the outfit that makes a solid plastic replace ment fix.
And, when you have that shaft from the box to the colom off, see how much play is in that sliding joint.
Center punch the crap...
It's a ground.
Had that exact issue.
Cleaned the terminals, cleaned the ground and ran extra ground wires.
One to the alt case itself.
I rebuilt my stock alt and turned the comutator prior to that.
I got the rebuild kit online and I think I searched Denso to find it.
The...
Well friends, some one or thing has been stealing my oil.
I did the Plenum fix already.
The missing earl issue has just cropped up.
Been using synthetic the last two years.
What could be the likely culprit?
Valve guides?
It isn't leaking out.
New issue so the exhaust isn't...
Well so I got to thinking. That has to be all old oil in those runners. The plenum plate was blown when I got it. I'm going to bath it anyway as I cleaned up the inlets with a file and dremel and cleared up the bottom of the injector holes with a sanding drum. Relax it was the under side of...
Friends, getting things ready to do the pelenum repair. I bought a used intake manifold off ebay. Just got the hughs kit via ups. Had the surfaces flat checked. But, I'm not happy with it's cleanliness yet.
What is normaly used to clean the intake?
The shop that I had check the...
I put the SCT with an 87 octane tune on my 01 and now if I geezer it, the thing gets 16 at least. Used to only be 10-11 mpg with the death flash. I think I'm going to go put some 91 in it and see what that tune does to it. :)
