Ecodiesel sled deck and 2 place trailer

Good point, however the 2500 weighs more and as a daily driver, there goes the gas mileage down the crapper!

Diesel or Hemi, towing sleds (I'm new)!

I was thinking the same, but now when comparing price between an Outdoorsman V6 and a Big Horn Ecodiesel there is a substantial difference. And my whole life I have driven SUV or the Astro van, and this is the only time in my life where towing this trailer I feel I need something better to do it...

Diesel or Hemi, towing sleds (I'm new)!

It looks like anything higher than the Outdoorsman trim do not have the V6 option. Though now I am seriously considering the Outdoors man lol

    4x4 problem Ram 2013+ 8-speed 44-44 transfer case

Yeah, unfortunately my guess is that 75-80% of people buying a half ton, are using them as a daily commuter and to throw a few pieces of lumber in the back so they will never experience this issue. Only the select few that truly use them as trucks will likely experience this and to RAM they...

Diesel or Hemi, towing sleds (I'm new)!

I tired it with the shorter bed as well as the short bed and the Quad, and it only gives me the Hemi option??

Diesel or Hemi, towing sleds (I'm new)!

I would love to come ride in NB one day. Our season has been pretty good so far, a solid December. However there calling for rain and +7 this Saturday which will hurt some of the trails. This is my second season on my 2012 MXZ X 600 Etec.. I love this machine!

That is a sweet set up!

Diesel or Hemi, towing sleds (I'm new)!

Maybe in U.S this package is standard, but here in Canada if you go on the build site and put in Crew Cab the V6 option disappears??

Diesel or Hemi, towing sleds (I'm new)!

Will we have the option of gear choice with the EcoDiesel?

Diesel or Hemi, towing sleds (I'm new)!

I agree the Hemi would certainly be more fun. However, I'm driving a 2006 Pontiac Torrent V6 right now. I'm sure the Diesel would be fun in comparison. Also, like I said before I plan on keeping my vehicles between 8-10 yrs, so I am thinking the diesel will prove better in the long run (both...

Ecodiesel sled deck and 2 place trailer

Thanks for the info guys. I figured it would be over. Good point about throwing gear in the trailer. Maybe I'll just stick to the trailer and throw one sled in the bed and scrap the idea of a sled deck... I wouldn't be towing that set up enough to justify the expense of a 2500 HD.

Ecodiesel sled deck and 2 place trailer

I thought about the 4 place trailer but the areas I sled the smaller the trailer the better. You don't think with the self leveling air suspension it would minimize the sag?

Ecodiesel sled deck and 2 place trailer

I posted this question on another section of the forum but have not received any response. Probably better here. I am eventually looking to purchase the Ecodiesel. My question is this, I have thought about getting a sled deck to fit on the bed for 2 sleds and my 2 place trailer, but that might...

    ENRAGED! EcoDiesel Delays AGAIN

It looks like they are supposed to start arriving at Dealers in February. If you do a search "2014 Ram 1500 news", it looks like there was a public release out today and yesterday regarding this...

Diesel or Hemi, towing sleds (I'm new)!

Good points from everyone, and gas mileage is definitely a concern, I don't want a gas guzzler and was just looking for opinions from truck owners that my thoughts were on the right path. Again I am only towing through the months of Dec-March, with maybe a few tows in the summer with the small...

Diesel or Hemi, towing sleds (I'm new)!

Hi kkreit01, I did think of that, but unfortunately the V6 is not offered in the Big Horn CC. Which is likely the trim I would be purchasing.

Diesel or Hemi, towing sleds (I'm new)!

That's actually not a bad idea hooking up at the dealer. Also I plan on buying used, in the next 2 years. Hopefully 2015 just so not to deal with any first year problems.

Diesel or Hemi, towing sleds (I'm new)!

I never doubt that the Hemi had ample power to haul my set up. Just thinking for fuel mileage. The diesel has lots of torque low end and therefore will hold lower revs while towing = better MPG. From my research, diesel engines last longer than gassers. In the upcoming years, I plan on doing...

Diesel or Hemi, towing sleds (I'm new)!

Hey, I am new to this site and have never owned a truck. I have snowmobiled my whole life and am currently hauling 2 sleds (both 2012 MXZ 600 and 800 ETECS) in a Triton enclosed trailer (TC-118). Total weight of this rig is about 1900lbs including sleds. My current vehicle is a 2006 Pontiac...
