    Traction/Tow Haul

I believe it also makes the shifts quicker to reduce wear on the clutches, and holds gears longer when slowing down. Also will block out overdrive. Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk

    what happened to my wax?

I missed where he said it was carnauba wax, they don't even sell meguiars carnauba around here. But yes use a different wax. I have had good luck with meguiars nxt 2.0 wax, and their ultimate wax as well. Both lasted for a while. Not as long as my current wax, but I don't know the name of what...

    Remove broken exhaust stud

Just did it this morning. Easy job. Soaked it in Pb blaster last night and everything came out pretty easy. There were two broken studs but I think the one just recently broke as it just got louder before I did it and I only remember seeing one broken before. The broken studs came out with...

    what happened to my wax?

Did you clay bar before waxing? You don't need to clay bar everytime you wax but you should occasionally. It ensures the surface of your vehicle is as clean as possible to ensure the best adhesion of the wax. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

    Remove broken exhaust stud

One of these weekends I'm going to replace the passenger side exhaust gasket and one of the studs is broken. I was wondering how much play there is in the exhaust system? Can I pull the manifold off the head far enough to replace the gasket and a vice grip on what's left of the stud, or do I...

Who Has Ran 5w30 in the 4 gen 1500?

Chances are your mds will act up. Mds is designed around 5w20 and there is a code it'll throw if you use the wrong oil weight, and your mds will stop working. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

    Ram purchase

See if you can look under the flares at all. Fixing rust and putting on flares screams to me a half ass patch job using the flares to cover it up. Flares are part of the problem with rusty wheel wells as well. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Does it smell really bad in the cab? Often a leaking heater core will really stink. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Header gaskets, what works best for you, and why?

Not familiar with the trucks, but on LX's with Hemi's the general rule is to throw out any gasket that comes with the headers and use a Mopar gasket, as people have had the best luck with them. I would imagine it would be the same for the Hemi in the trucks.

    Rust!!!!!!!!

Do you have pics of the wheel well liners? Do they go right on the lip of the sheet metal? Mine has a plastic liner on it, but it doesn't go all the way around the wheel, it is just at the back. I'm wondering if there is another style that covers more of the wheel well. If you could post a...

    horsepower gains ?

Keep in mind different dynos can give different readings, you can't compare two different vehicles on two different dynos running at different conditions there are to many variables. Dynos are just a tuning tool for your vehicle. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

    Serpentine belt or tensioner?

Just pull the belt off and see if you have play in any of the pulleys, you can usually identify a noisy pulley just by checking for play and seeing how rough the bearings are when spun by hand. Also, how does the belt look? If it looks in rough shape, it is probably time for a new one anyways.

    water pump

I've had a water pump on a 318 before not leak until it decided to dump coolant everywhere. Upon removal there was a lot of play in the pulley so it had been bad for a while before it finally let go. You can have loose bearings and no leakage if your seals are holding up still, but when they go...

    Upper Control Arms

I think the difference is that with an OEM Air Suspension, everything has been designed to work within the ride height settings of the Air Suspension. When you are talking about an aftermarket lift, you are now making the suspension operate outside of its designed parameters, so that is when...

    Mds

Yes, the wire came from the wiring harness that runs along the firewall in the engine Bay. I disassembled by headlight switch module on my dash and put the light in there, as I didn't want to drill into the main dash cover, in case I ever wanted to remove it. And then I put an slp exhaust on...

    Mds

Rpm will not drop when in mds. Your engine Rpm is dictated by your transmission gearing, rear diff gearing, and tire size, and not by engine displacement or engine power. In my 300c I have an led hooked up to one of the solenoid wires, when it turns on the solenoid it lights the led. Sent...

    cordless impact wrench?

I have an 18V Milwaukee cordless 1/2" Drive impact. I used it to completely disassembly a 1991 Dodge Dakota with 450,000km down to the frame, the only thing it had problems with were the cab mount bolts, and it was just because the cab bushings were rusted to the bolts and absorbing all the...

How to prevent RUST from drilling?

When I put mudflaps on my car I had to drill into the fender. After I drilled the hole I put a bit of silicone in the hole, and then covered the threads and under the head of the screw in silicone as well. Been about 5 years in Manitoba winters and so far so good. Sent from my HTC One using...

New to the forums need some tuneup advise

Just go with Mopars atf+4. Mopars transmissions are very finicky about what trannys fluid they use so whatever you do do not use dexron or generic all makes all models fluids. Mopars atf+4 is synthetic as well. There aren't a lot of things I recommend buying from Dodge as far as parts and fluids...
