the 2014 and previous you just need the tuner. 2015 and above need a new unlocked ecu on top of the tuner. So pricing is I believe 459.99 to 999 respectively. I am using the intune 2 i2010 programmer. If you google hemifevertuning you will see where to purchase.
I have never been a big fan of tuners for the purpose of performance gains.. but my powerwagon with 6.4 had some natural oddities that drove me nuts.. MDS... useless..., odd and terrible shift patterns, always felt like it was lugging, didn't feel peppy. Some odd shudders when turning one...
We know these transmissions are finicky and quite strange behaving... one thing I assume is normal but just seems way odd is when in tow haul mode hauling and say I am coasting down a hill and picking up speed, the tranny by design downshifts to try and engine brake... but I have had it happen...
That is interesting feedback, I would fully agree on my first engine.. but the last 10k I have been amazed how quite the motor is compared to my 5.7's! Post a recording of yours?
So I am a bit gun shy with engine noises since I had my 2015 PW engine replaced at 10k miles due to the connecting rod wrist pin issue... anyway another 10k miles later I did a quickie lube shop oil change... Anyway the only thing they had in 0-40 was mobile 1. Being I was short on time and was...
Well add me to the coolant smell. Was told they "all" do that. I have not looked at loss but will take some measurements. I have a 15 PW. I also had my motor replaced at 10k. Same smell with the new one as well so I would think that eliminates anything at the motor level and would have to be in...
I have the Mufflex with Magnaflow and a drop in k&N. No difference in performance or mileage that I can tell. I do not have the CAI but I have never had one that really made any difference anyway.
However, just the other day I cut out the resonator and welded in a pipe in its place and sounds...
Powerwagon tpms defaults set lower by default to 60 compared to normal 2500. Which again is a hazard in itself by having the minimum set as the maximum the tire is rated for. I had mine changed no issue.... but did have to give them instructions lmao!
PSI change? The tires MAX rating is 50 psi.. All tires are not the same.... The duratracs that comes on the powerwagon max PSI is 60... I know the standard tire on ram 2500 is MAX 80 psi... and that doesn't mean you should be at 80 unless 1 you like to replace tires or 2 you are freighted to max...
Yeah the Speed limit in Northern Maine is 75...... semis hauling 80k going faster... Its long straight and not a lot of traffic...
Yes the picture is me locking out 6th gear.. shows 5th but is in 4rth. Hell empty the truck has all it can do to hold 6th unless its perfectly flat terrain. At...
It has not been re calibrated but I do take the variance into account. I am off 2 MPH at 60.
I can say I love the 8 speed in the 1500. And someone mentioned it seems like the 6 spd is very finicky.... and I think 66MPH is the magic brick wall for aerodynamics... really the truck needs 456 gears...
My little Rubicon pulls this trailer and gets 8.0 mpg lol. Its a Vnose, double axle 7 foot wide sled trailer so it tows pretty easily. And since I also own a 2016 ram 1500 with 3:21 gears and get 10 to 12 on same trip not trying.. It is what it is.
I am running 35" tires (Measure 34 however)...
Round trip towing a enclosed aluminum 16 foot trailer with 3 foot vnose with a curb weight with two snowmobiles of just over 3k lbs. (Trailer is 1700, sleds combined are 1400).
This is in Maine so low elevation, 200 to 900 feet on average. One leg was state roads averaging 55MPH mixed...
The beast is two tone but its hard to notice unless the sun hits it right. Its gunmetal but the machined part of the face is like a copper. Looks awesome IMO and I was pleasantly surprised.
Chrome bumpers imo are just ugly. Paint or black ones. Use other cues to differentiate between a landscaper package. My powerwagon tradesman is dark grey and I am looking for options to get rid of the chrome.
Reek, you have the resonator delete as well? I have mufflex and resonator and it's almost too quite in cab...and I'm pushing 40 and don't want a loud exhaust just a nice deep rumble.
Ram approved the new engine. Now the waiting game. FYI same wrist pin issue, lots of scoring of cylinder walls... My build date was January 1 2015. Power Wagon.
my 2015 PW fuel woes.
The best I can come up with is the evic is based on the 26 gallon tanks even though we have 31. I say this because consistently it states 320 miles when I fill up till empty and when the low fuel light comes on and states range of 40 miles there is still 7 to 8 gallons...
2015 Power Wagon Build date 1/15
Same exact noise as the videos... going in next tuesday... Also have a problem with I think my torque converter.
Low RPM under light load rpm fluctuates and engine surges/bogs etc.
They choose ECO over MDS to cover the entire line of vehicles in the Chrysler family to include those without cylinder deactivation. The premise is simply best fuel economy in this range. At least on the 2015 RAM 2500 there is a direct correlation. I always have this on my evic just because I...
I don't have the 8.4 I have the 5.0 screen. The ECO shows on the center display behind steering wheel when looking at fuel economy. Must be different then eco mode on your 8.4 because with 100% certainty the eco only comes on when MDS is active... It is undeniably apparent when MDS is on. No...
