Yup. I really am not a fan of these "computer on wheels" cars. It is ripe for obsolescence issues, as we have already seen.
But it also opens the door for abuses like subscription-based amenities. Really ****** me off when all the hardware is there but they want money to enable it. I...
Yes, I understand the fixes. I've ordered the map update ($150). It just bugs me that you pay for a thing and it stops working. I understand that technology marches on and that is fine. But nothing on a 1964 Mustang just stopped working when new cars were invented. Everything it was sold...
We've got a 2015 Ram 1500 with the Hemi. It's been a good truck. Only real problem we had was the common leaky 3rd brake light issue.
However, I was driving it yesterday and the nav system was horribly out-of-date. So, I set about to figure out how to update it.
First thing I had to do was...
Usually, I just stop by on the way to a shoot and pick up a few pigs while in my RV. But they have stopped wanting to break up 35-pig bundles this time; I don't know why.
I don't have a place to store a trailer and wouldn't want to pay more monthly storage fees to park something else besides...
Good point, I had not considered those options that I added after the fact. Nor the Line-X coating in the truck bed.
And since I weigh right at 300 pounds, I'm probably right at the limit carrying 1100 pounds of cargo.
I shoot competitively in the North-South Skirmish Association. We shoot firearms from the era of the American Civil War. I'm picking up 35 pigs of pure lead from Sanders Lead in Troy, Alabama for myself and folks in the region.
Truck is back from the body shop and I took pictures of the door...
I looked at that also, but it was difficult to determine how much of that was cargo and how much of that was the weight of the vehicle itself. As I said earlier, the truck is currently in the shop but when it comes out I'll post a picture of the sticker.
Anyway it's a moot point now because...
The first thing I did was look in the owner's manual.
It has zero information printed in it concerning cargo capacity, and instead directs you to a web site link.
I went to the link and it only provides information for 2021 and 2022 model years.
I went and looked at the sicker but it listed GVR or something and that also includes the weight of the truck. I wasn't able to ferret out the actual cargo capacity but I got tired of tilting my head sideways to try and figure it out! :)
My wife's truck is at the body shop now (we got...
Hi all,
I have a 2015 Ram 1500 with 5.7 L engine. It has a short-bed truck and is a Crew Cab.
I need to pick up a load of 2,200 pounds of lead.
Looks like my max cargo capacity is about 1,700 pounds.

Yeah I don't want a temporary solution I'm looking for something that lets me use my computer as a passenger on long road trips. My notebook has a 300W power supply.
Our 2015 Ram has a 110V AC socket, but it's only good for 150 watts, and this won't run a notebook computer.
Is there a way to upgrade the capabilities of this socket?
I got it to work.
I don't know if I had reached the maximum number of devices in the truck uconnect, or if it was confused because the old phone and the new phone have the same phone number but were different phones.
Anyway, in Uconnect, I deleted my old phone (and ipod, for that matter)...
I had an Iphone 5 which bluetooth connected to my 2016 Ram 1500 fine, but now I have replaced it with an LG Premier LGL62VL and when I go into pairing my phone searches but does not find anything to connect to.
Any ideas?
Steve
So I don't know if you need a special app on your iphone or what.
But when I connect to my iphone to my 2016 Ram stereo, I can't see what music is on my phone. I can only cycle up or down through the playlist.
Is there a way to get a list of songs on the stereo like you do with USB?
Steve
Go to Cars.com.
You can search nationally, sorting by distance from zip code. Now you can search for the same truck and see if you can get a better deal somewhere else.
Do all your shopping through email, and focus on the out-the-door price.
It just amazes me that so many people seem hell-bent on a race to the bottom to have environmental regulations like China or other polluted places. I guess next up they'll be suggesting we ditch all of our worker protection and wage laws so we can race that to the bottom to be like them in...
