So I have a 5.7 2500 CCLB with 3.73 gears that came with 285/70r17 mud terrains. I want to go to a smaller all terrain for better highway mileage... I'm currently seeing 11 at 70mph. Even a bump to 14 would make my day! The 245s way less but will cause the engine to rev more in OD. Anyone have...
Well I took the plunge and got the 2500. Got a better deal than I thought and isn't a bad ride like I thought. It's got a flowmaster exhaust that is way to loud so I will probably be selling for factory setup. Also came with 285/70r17 firestone MTs that are brand new... Will be trading/selling...
I am also partial to regular cabs... my last 4 trucks were all rcsb. One thing I forgot to mention is we have 3 large dogs that go on any trip with us lol. We are fine with her honda most of the time but a baby busts the limits. I'm in the Army so I drive 2500 miles twice a year for leave with...
Good points. I do most of my own repairs however this truck is still under warranty. I figured as much on the ride quality. I'm going to test drive on Saturday so I will find out first hand. This will be my 5th pickup but first 3/4 ton.
I have spent countless hours planning my build on my RCSB only to find out I have to get rid of it. Fortunately I didn't buy or modify anything yet. So on to my question. I found out my wife is pregnant, meaning I want/need a 4 door. I want the 5.7, 4 door, and 4wd. Oddly enough I found that...
So I was changing my oil the other day and had an old challenger oil filter laying around that I compared to the ram filter. The challenger filter was a lot larger and I can not think of why FCA would do that for the same engine. Anyone know of a benefit or downside to using it? It will...
http://www.ramforum.com/f44/straight_bolt_dyno_results-24192/ Just found this thread. Very similar to what I am doing only no underdrive pulley and on a 6 speed platform.
So to start off I'm an idiot and about a year ago bought a new 2016 ram and was left with the decision to void the warranty or wait 6 years for it to expire. :suicide: I have talked to moe's about some goals I would like to obtain to include damn near everything but the bottom end but I think...
You can buy a brand new 3.92 front for $700 online and just swap it. I found rear for $1400. Is it more expensive than having a shop do it?... yes. Do I trust shops in my area to regear?... no.
Thanks for all the input everyone. I can't remember where but I saw a thread where someone had switched back from 3.92 to 3.21. Anyone know about this?
If you had the option to go from 3.21 to 3.92 or get long tubes and y pipe which would you do? This is assuming cost is more or less equal. Which would benefit performance more? Also this is on an 8 speed.
I had the 315/70r17 amps on my old chevy. I will say from an off-road stand point they are awesome. The lifespan of them is another issue. They will chunk and wear quickly. Balancing was terrible. I had so many stick on weights they had to stack them on top of each other like a pyramid lol. Also...
Anyone run staggered tires on a 4g? I've been back and forth on what I want to do with my truck but I was wondering how a 305/50r20 rear and a 275/55r20 front would work. Anyone running this successfully? Any pics?
I would trade. That's a pretty good deal on a new truck. I ended up trading a used 2014 for a new 2016 and the only difference was the color and transmission but I wanted the 8 speed and the loan was almost the same.
I ran Kings on my 07 chevy and it was one hell of a difference. They did require upkeep on the heim joints and needed to be rebuilt every now and then but that tends to happen with a prerunner lol.
