    16 or 18 gauge wire for HID Ballast power

    I am running a power line from the battery the power 2 HID Ballast I tested amperage draw is 7 amps at start 3 continuous the wires on the harness seem to be 18 gauge I have to extend the power run to the battery should I use the same or should I go to 16 g ?
