Camshaft/ crankcase or computer?
Sorry if this is long and drawn out, but I just want to make sure I get all the information in there. I'm having issues with my 1999 Dodge ram 1500 4x4 5.9. my son had been using it and it would die when it got hot outside. sometimes it would have to sit for hours before it would start...- dmanic

Truck stalls
Crap, now i remember seeing it when i swapped the engine. anyone interested in a well used dodge ram? so, how do i test to see if the issue is the CKPS or the fuel pump. When this happens and i turn the key to the on position, i cannot hear the fuel pump motor, but it's usually happens while...- dmanic

Truck stalls
The psi is fine and the exhaust is new. someone else suggested the CCPS, maybe i should start there. Is it a real pita to change. some guy told me it took him about 20 min. anything else i should look for? Thanks guys.- dmanic

Truck stalls
Anyone ever have a issue of the truck stalling while driving it? I have power and it will crank, but won't start. after sitting for a while it starts back up. The hotter it is outside the more it does it and the longer it take to start working again. it died on me twice today and I only drove...- dmanic

ram 1500 vs dakota 5.9
I know what you mean... But the injectors were definately different, that's why i didn't use the ones that came with the dakota engine. It had different connectors on it, so i pulled the ones off my old engine and put those in. Is that ok, or do i need to use the injectors from the dakota and...- dmanic

Yes... I'm getting volume and pressure at the fuel rail, but i still need to pull the infectors. the engine i bought came with different injectors and the connection on them was different too. so i kept my old injectors which were new when i started this whole thing. Will this make a...- dmanic

Thanks... You should see the Plugs now. Fuel Pressure at the rail is fine, but i think i will need to pull the injectors to see they are working correctly. I had a little water in the fuel, but ran the tank dry, then put more gas in. So no water now. I can't time it, cause it won't stay...- dmanic

So i pulled the plugs and this is what i got I also did a compression check on it, but here's where the problem lies. I didn't check the new engine for oil when i bought it and apparently it was full of oil. so i'm not sure if the oil had drained everywhere when i was installing it. Not...- dmanic

Looks like they were on the fuel rail up to 98, then moved to the fender for 99 and 00. Beyond that I'm not sure, but it looks like it was left on the engine when I bought it. So its just an extra part now. Well I checked timing by bribing #1 cylinder to tdc, checking dizzy location and timing...- dmanic

Wow, i wasn't even close... i was leaning more towards a muffler bearing :happy175: I took a bunch of pictures, but my phone was stolen and now i have no before pics.
