    Off Road Package

No problem at all. Useful feedback is nice to have on a major purchase so I'm glad I could contribute. For my needs, the 2016 PW Tradesman I found was perfectly configured. It has manual-folding tow mirrors, brake controller, rear camera w/back up assist, Uconnect 5.0 and carpet w/all-weather...

And perhaps the modular design keeps fitment more flexible across the entire Ram HD line.... Either way... It's overpriced but sure is sexy!

The AEV bumper is a nice piece and I definitely want one. They sure are proud of it though. I think it starts at $2,200 and properly configured for the PW with options it's around $2,500. On the wish list it goes!

Thanks to all the guys that chimed in and added more proof of the PW's capabilities... Pretty much exemplified why I bought one over the new Titan XD. There are a lot of vehicles with OE packages and features that one could argue against having real-world value... The Power Wagon simply isn't...

    Off Road Package

No one here is upset about the 6.4's towing performance at max rating up the Ike... that's just some negativity you injected into the conversation. Like others have said; pretty much pointless and irrelevant when it has nothing to do with the thread topic. Yes, a few of us mentioned towing...

I'm glad I'm not the only one calling BS on the whole "PW is overrated" topic. Great responses, reloaderguy!

Even the pure awesomeness of the PW can't overcome gross operator error! There's your caption.

Anyone running the K&N intake on the 6.4 ?

Sweet! Competition and another option along with the K&N will be nice... Stampederfan... that's a nice looking truck you have there in your Avatar. I dig the looks of the Outdoorsman. I'm still debating whether or not to fully convert my PW to the same two-tone look.
  9. PWR-WAGN

    Off Road Package

I'm not going to counter everything you've said here, because I actually agree that some of the features you've mentioned would be nice additions to the PW setup (better lighting, around view montior, vehicle dynamic display, etc.). However, I will say this... The current Power Wagon hasn't...
  10. PWR-WAGN

    Off Road Package

Did you read the entire thread or just the first post? The OP was debating between a PW or a regular 2500 w/off road package as future options and that's what most posters have debated. Just because I support the one that you don't, doesn't mean you have to insult my reading comprehension...

Flowmaster 70 Series vs Mangnaflow 22"

Congrats... the sound is nice, huh? I removed my resonator about 90% for aesthetics and 10% for sound. If you can live with the look, then I don't see a downside for keeping it. Seriously though, the OEM resonator had to be a design afterthought... that thing is hideous! :puke:

    Off Road Package

The max capacity of a PW was tested by TFL Truck up the Ike and it performed flawlessly. Granted that was roughly 10K lbs in tow with 1400 lb payload. If we are going to split hairs and discuss which 2500 gasser model RAM is overrated (literally), it would be the regular 2500 not the PW. The...

    Off Road Package

I read this a lot in other forums and blogs too. However, I'm not sure a lot of folks know why FCA is going this route with RAM. They already made RAM a stand alone brand and I think ditching the traditional Dodge cross-hair grill is the next step. I kinda like the new grill as it has a ram...

New Shoes - Toyo Open Country 35x12.50R17

Right on! I wasn't sure if that was literally your lifestyle or just a weekend thing. That's cool though. The west is a sweet place to explore. Just curious, how much does your trailer weigh?

    Ici magnum RT steps installed

st8er, If you like this style step, check out the Iron Cross HD steps too. Very similar style and I'm pretty sure they make a 3-step wheel-to-wheel version as well. I have the cab length ones and love them!

No worries! Do you live close to Moab? I'm in Northern Utah and plan on getting down that way this year at some point.

Awesome brother, good luck with everything!

Flowmaster 70 Series vs Mangnaflow 22"

That's a good price for install! If you live where it snows and the roads are salted in winter, I'd recommend making sure your shop uses stainless pipe for the extension and the correct fill for the welds to prevent premature corrosion.

    Off Road Package

I second this! The PW's ratings are arbitrary BS that RAM had to compromise on for legality's sake. I don't think it's ideal for fifth wheel towing (height and rear springs), but it will handle anything else another 2500 gasser can. I'm not saying the PW is the best option for everyone...

Flowmaster 70 Series vs Mangnaflow 22"

BoldAdventure and I both have a 22" Magnaflow dumped where the resonator used to be (check out dedicated 6.4 exhaust thread). I believe his is the 3" diameter while I went with the 3.5", part #12909. Both are center/offset and will work; however, it's not a direct replacement for the OE...

Color-matched Grill with Black Quad Headlights

That's a valid question. I kept the filler pieces black to match the flares. I like the two tone wrap around effect. I know on the the monochrome Outdoorsman and Laramie trims, the filler panels are color-matched along with the flares. That's the only way I think they look good with body...
  22. PWR-WAGN

    Off Road Package

I certainly don't want to open the can of worms and bring on a debate about the PW's reduced ratings, but I can assure you that the numbers are somewhat misleading (although still a legal limitation). It's still a 3/4 ton truck with a stout frame, brakes, powertrain, etc... This has been...
  23. PWR-WAGN

Color-matched Grill with Black Quad Headlights

My inspiration came from how the monochrome Outdoorsman trucks are set up with color-matched grill and chrome bumpers. I think it looks a lot better than the all-chrome grill. The black on the Tradesman is fine too, but it lacked contrast with the honeycomb inserts. I don't think you'll...

Color-matched Grill with Black Quad Headlights

I believe the 1500 is the only vehicle they are assigned to as an original part. I'm pretty sure all the 4th generation headlights are interchangeable among 1500/2500/3500 trucks. The parts department I ordered mine from online called to verify I indeed wanted them for my 2500 as they...
