It's not controlling the amount of boost the blower makes, it is controlling the throttle plate, which means full throttle is not really full throttle, so it some how is stopping the boost as there are no leaks in the system and bypass is working correctly.
Hey guys,
So, for a years now I have been running my Procharger with no real issues to speak of. However, a few months ago, all the sudden the engine torque management has seemed to have declared war on my boost and has even been throwing bad enough codes about the engine torque management to...
Hey guys,
So, on Tuesday, my serpentine belt came off resulting in having to put it back on while on the side of the road in the dark, not a fun experience.
The biggest problem with the Procharger tensioner is that it is manual and doesn't keep a consistent spring loaded tension on the belt...
So, some how my serpentine belt actually fell off, didn't actually break, on my way home from work last night. I was able to get it back on and make it home, but don't want this to happen again as it instantly pegged my engine temps.
The only thing I can thing caused this was the belt...
Yea, think they changed something on the 5.7 after 13' that bumped the power up a bit, think it was either an intake or head design change of some type.
Correct, this^^^
It will be in 2wd most of the time unless it detects slip then will use 4 seamlessly, you won't even feel it switch; I don't anyways. Think WilliamS's may have an issue if it pops in and out. I usually just leave mine in auto and have never had it act up or anything, has...
That would be me and yes, launching in auto-4 without traction control will definitely stick you to the seat in my truck :evillol: (see mods in SIG)
Done it for a couple years now with no damage whatsoever, these are tough trucks. As long as you have the 8-speed, you'll be fine...
Wow, didn't realize that all that could be picked up by sensors enough to actually throw codes. I don't think we changed anything in the tune related to knock sensors, but that is a good idea to look into that and all the internals are stock on my engine.
What exactly would need to be done...
Interesting, didn't know that kind of setup was even available for these trucks. I have the stock hood currently and probably want to keep it that way, just need a good cheap and clean way of routing the air cleaner away from high heat temps.
Hmm, still getting misfire codes even on the newer colder plug, 3381s, any other suggestions on why I'm getting these "ghost codes" pop-up when I've never feel or heard any actual misfires from this truck?
Hey guys,
So one thing my speed shop guy and I don't like about the Procharger kit for these trucks is that the air intake filter ends up be located right beside the passenger's side header sucking in all that super heated air, which I bet is robbing some HP.
So, I would like to reroute it...
Probably so, last time I timed it was before the trans tuning and fixing the blower belt slippage issue, so it probably is faster than that now. Will be even better after my next mod of a higher stall torque converter :waytogo:
If you are referring to 0-60 mph, not feet, then yea, around there ^^^
Mine stock was around 6 seconds, but I have 3.92 gears. Now with all my mods, it is around 5 seconds :Big Laugh:
Went 15% overdrive as that's what us supercharged folks do to get more power :Big Laugh:
My personal experience with underdrive pulleys was not good. Put a set of underdrive pulleys on my old 94' ram and it just caused electrical issues due to dropping the voltage and more frequent...
There are some, I made a post about it in this section a while back and someone recommended a decently priced place, don't remember off hand who it was, but there are some out there.
Yeah, if I set the 4-auto and turn off the traction control, it launches pretty darn hard and the next planned mod is a higher stall converter, which will make it launch even harder :Big Laugh:
