Oh, don't get me wrong, there's definitely some value to a cosmetic upgrade. I was just pointing out that the performance aspect of that particular part is completely aesthetic. Not that that's a bad thing, of course.:naughty:
Correct. Have you priced a 430N yet? Still think you're better off with aftermarket, especially if you don't plan on not getting the Uconnect. The OEM radio is fine with all the bells and whistles working, but if you cripple it by not adding Uconnect and backup cam then it is an overly expensive...
You need a 430 with high-speed bus. 430N if you want Nav. You will also need a separate Uconnect module and for backup cam you need the cam kit and to have the dealer program it. This will be a very expensive mod and you might be better off going aftermarket.
Yeah, I was a little disappointed in mine compared to the one in my 2nd gen 2500. I like that I no longer have to look up to see the computer stuff, but I miss the eyeglass holder I had before.
I've seen the OEM cam and harness selling on eBay for less, but you still have to pay the dealer for flashing it to work even if you install it yourself. That's why I went with the Lockpick. Cheaper and gives you more options for things like cam, Nav and DVD operation in gear, multiple cams and...
My bro-in-law just got a set of the DeeZee bars and they only have 2 mountings per side, also. Mine are pretty hefty and rated for 600 pounds. Don't see any heiffers getting into my truck, so they should be fine.:roflsquared:
But you weren't unsure enough to be asking strangers for advice before you did, right? The guy asked and I gave him an honest opinion. So did you. Ball's in his court.
If short hop driving is what you do, forget the diesel. If you don't need to tow a lot then forget the diesel. The only reason to get a diesel is if you need the power and can afford the extra initial cost and maintenance. For a casual truck user the Hemi is plenty powerful. Don't buy a diesel...
No worries. Been doing the forum thing since 1992 (yeah, I was tech geek back then). The good thing about forums is they are a great way to exchange ideas and issues with others. The bad thing about forums is they are a great way to exchange ideas and issues with others. One thing you need to...
Just my opinion, but 28 per side seems like overkill to me. I just wanted some accent lighting, not a supplemental light source. At hood height I could see those being a real annoyance to a driver in front of you. Looks cool, though.
It was nothing compared to how badly the forum staff treated me after my dad died. First, they revoked my mod status without a word, then when I got pissed about it they gave me a permanent ban. This was all within 2 weeks of him dying. As a mod I was a bit strict (I don't suffer the ignorant or...
Yeah, I used to be a mod on that forum until a jerkoff member pushed my buttons right after my dad died and I unloaded on him. Got a lifetime ban. Oh well.:flipthebird:
By the way, if you are thinking of getting another set of inserts to do this with or in case you mess up, I went to the Dodge dealer to see how much they would be. They want $137 for the right side and $129 for the left side. Pretty crazy if you ask me.
Been wanting to do this since I got the truck. No desire to make the scoops of my Sport hood functional, but wanted to do something to make the truck a little different. LEDs are from Super Bright LEDs online. The rest is from Radio Shack. It took me much of the afternoon to do this mod and I am...
