Interesting. I'll have a look and see if I can try the same, thanks.

At what point is valve\lifter clatter a warranty issue?

Thanks for the info everyone. Yes for sure not a mani sound, 100% lifter/rod clack. I spent most of this week starting with my remote starter while recording video at the front bumper to catch it and surprise surprise not a sound lol. Maybe I just need to record my engine every single start up...

At what point is valve\lifter clatter a warranty issue?

2019 5th gen 1500 4x4 Big Horn, 89,000km. 95% of the miles are highway miles, oil changes done on time with FRAM or similar name brand filters and good quality synthetic. Engine is plugged in on the block heater during the winter months when temps are -20 to -50 to ensure even the good oil...

2019 Ram 5.7l coolant is insane now

So I checked my resevoir, and although I have no visible leaks, my coolant is at the "minimum" line. To be fair it's been a few years now so it may just be normal evaporation. I want to top it up but I'm struggling with what to use. I swear there are so many different coolants out there because...

Pouring leak from the roof of my 2019 Big Horn: NOT HAPPY

UPDATE: So when I originally did the water testing I taped off the entire rear tail light to remove it from the equation and I slowly poured water around the shark fin. Water poured into the back seat from both airbag plastic markers on the liner top. Ok so it's the fin. Clearly I pulled and...

Pouring leak from the roof of my 2019 Big Horn: NOT HAPPY

Done, and didn't even eat $h&t from an airbag. Even made a very crude youtube video for it in case anyone else needs. https://youtu.be/NDMIBm0WKv0

Pouring leak from the roof of my 2019 Big Horn: NOT HAPPY

Tnx for the reply. I was absolutely PO'd and went outside and taped off the entire back window and threw bucket of water at the antenna. Same water poured into my backseat. Warranty ran out 1000mi ago. Guess I'm tearing out the headliner because my hands just can't take the abuse they did a few...

Pouring leak from the roof of my 2019 Big Horn: NOT HAPPY

Crickets? Rained lightly today. Nearly half a gallon of water poured into my backseat. 60,000$ truck can't even keep water out. Absolutely pi$$ed.

Pouring leak from the roof of my 2019 Big Horn: NOT HAPPY

What a week, it poured rain on and off for days and it wasn't until one morning when I was getting items from my backseat I noticed it was soaked. The water is coming from inside the headliner and drips out either side right below the ceiling "air bag" plastic markers. I pulled the upper...

Transfer case\4x4 issues in the cold

Hey everyone, I didn't see a transmission forum so I opted to try general. 2019 Ram Big Horn, 5.7L with the 4hi\4low\4auto transfer case. I'm working on a dealership appointment, but it's not easy these days. The other day we had -43C (normal for here this time of year) and I had my truck of...

Terrible experience fixing a flat. Why is this a thing?

Thanks for some of the ideas here. The reading on TPMS was going up as I refilled the tire, from 0bar to the recommended 2.3-2.4bar. I also thought maybe it was because my door was open the whole time the truck was running and the inflator was going but after I finished inflating the tire and...

Terrible experience fixing a flat. Why is this a thing?

So I picked up a screw in my rear passenger tire. No biggie, I'll plug it for now as there are no tire shops in town. I was pleased to see a nice well defined jack point on the rear axle now btw. So I pull the tire, pull the screw, plug it, and grab my 12v inflator and fire it up (truck engaged...

    Premium light package headlight moisture?

So we had the lights replaced over winter to solve the issue only to have the drivers side fill with water again this spring. Two complaints: 1) It filled and indeed did short out the electrical this time so I lost my drivers side turn signals and ALL lights. 2) After bringing it to the dealer...

NOT Happy with my 2019, not even at the first oil change yet! Mostly a dealer complaint...

Well after a call to FCA (which did very little for me, literally the rep said to me "what do you want me to do about this.....?"), posting on the forums, and emailing the Dealership manager they did give us a Durango to take home so the truck can stay there to be fixed. It doesn't solve my time...

NOT Happy with my 2019, not even at the first oil change yet! Mostly a dealer complaint...

Nearest dealership is 140km one way. They have a minimum of 1 month backlog just to diagnose let alone fix anything. Last time I went there I dropped my truck off first few days of December and they told me they wouldn't even pop the hood to look at it until end of january.

NOT Happy with my 2019, not even at the first oil change yet! Mostly a dealer complaint...

I've purchased 4 brand new RAMs in the last 10 years and I've done all my service through one dealership in Canada. Up til now I've been very happy, but things have changed. I purchased a 2019 Ram Big Horn in December and have had repeated issues with the premium LED lights. I've had THREE...

Wasn't sure where to post this, compressor noise??

I bought my 2019 Ram bighorn 5.7 4x4 back in December. Recently I had it in getting the headlights replaced due to leaks. When I picked up my truck and fired it up I noticed a LOUD compressor sound inside the cab. Honestly it is exactly the same sound as when you hookup a compressor and start...

    WARRANTY ???

Weird, I'm in Canada so maybe some coverage is different but I had 2x sets of foglights replaced on my 2012 under warranty due to the housing failure, same thing you mention where it was vibrating around. It gave a noticeable "dazzling" effect when in use on the roads. A friend of mine has a...

Park Assist - Truck stops moving?!?!

I feel your pain there, I had to tow my 2014 and couldn't get the thing in neutral for the life of me thanks to the electronic shift. If you have a look at the manual however there is an easy mechanical bypass that could save you alot of headaches down the road (snip from the 2019 manual...

    What Octane Is Everyone Running

The only fuel I can buy in my area is regular, I run 89 when I go on roadtrips south where I can buy it. The mileage is better on 89 but with the extra cost (57cents more per gallon) I'm not sure the cost savings in the big picture. I ran all my previous rams on regular octane (again, due to...

Park Assist - Truck stops moving?!?!

Seriously though. I drive on lakes all the time and would consider a door ajar more dangerous than the millisecond it takes me to grab the handle and open the door. This reminds me of people who complain about the seatbelt dinger because they undo their seatbelt when driving over bridges. If you...

    Ram tough safety

2008 Ram - hit a bull moose at 55mph, completely wrote the truck off, engine snapped right off its mounts, frame buckled, roof caved in, my wife had moose blood on her lap and I had to kick my door to get it open but neither of us had a scratch. 2012 Ram - slid on a long corner during an ice...

    WARRANTY ???

Had an aftermarket warranty on a Jeep many years ago, they paid out once, but overall very hard to work with compared to the FCA warranty. Get the Chrysler one, it's just plain easier and ALOT more forgiving when you're out of mileage. I blew my outer axle seals on my rear diff 1000miles out of...
