    Rear Differential Swap Need Advice

    Looking to do a complete rear end swap using a 1998 Dodge Van 2x4 rear axle into my son's 1996 Ram 1500 4x4 pickup. Both differentials are 9.25 w/ 3.55 ratio. Seems a close match but we have noticed differences in the brake shoes, brake hardware and drums. Will obviously need to buy...

    2001 4.10 vs 2006-8 4.10 rear axle.

    I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 extended cab 4WD with the towing package, the sport package, and the 5.9L Magnum engine. The pinion gear in the rear diff welded to the housing. I want to replace the entire rear diff, but they are all over $1200 used. I can find 2006 - 8 rear ends with 4.10...
