“Update Status” on the main page is confusing to newcomers.

I see a regular occurrence of newcomers to the forum posting questions about their vehicle problems as status updates. Which seldom elicit a response because it’s not in the correct forum area.

My .02 the design to invite status updates so prominently is probably costing you some new members who get lost in how to post to the right area. They get no help and disappear.
