I am wondering if anybody knows if you can swap a 1500 9.25 axle to a 2500 axle? I am getting kinda tired of the problems with the 9.25 diff. What axle is the best 2500 axle? Or is there a better 1500 axle?

Shouldn't have any problems, You'll prolly have to get different size u-bolts because I think the axle housing diameter is larger. What probs are you having with 9.25?

Ok, Thanks!! Just the pinion gear nut coming off and the bearings making noise. Also the clutch pack problem that i am counting down the miles to.....lol. I think i am still going to try to make the 9.25 work.

It was kinda just a thought but if not to much trouble might swap it.....

I know I had pinion seal leak that was bad enough that it coated the entire axle in oil. I got it fixed and not another problem. Do you have an LSD? There are some members on here that have had the nut problem also and someone found a solution/fix for it... I'll try to find it. Clutches are pretty well done for?

You can swap in the rear end out of the SRT-10 truck. Although I believe this requires a new drive shaft. Loc-tite(red) should keep the pinion nut on.

Ok, i would be interested to see what others did to fix it.

Yes i have LSD..... it is not working right, i think wearing out. And the back diff locking up on me once it enough for my liking. So i would like to minimize the potential problems before they happen. So i could put in a Detroit trutrac but that is $650 Canadian dollars.

Loctite the nut. Setup is critical as is any rearend, but our 9.25 seems to be particularly sensitive to being right on. I picked up the necessary tools on eBay over a period of a few months and now do the work myself.
