1999 5.2 Gas push button start

Hello, i have a 1999 ram 1500 and am looking to change the ignition switch to a push button and kill switch and hoping to do so in a way that i dont have to have my key in the ignition cause it kinda defeats the purpose. Basically i want to end up with the prerunner/racecar style panel on the dash. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

In doing so, you will make it so that anyone who picks the lock or 'jimmies' your window can steal your truck without any issue.

Its possible, but you need some parts more than just a button. Unless you buy a push button conversion kit or know basic programing for something like an arduino, you will have to have two buttons. Either a start and stop button, or an ignition button and a start button.

Before I start a writeup on how to build all this, which of the three options do you want to go with?

I have A 1999 Dodge ram 1500 st. Manual everything (doors, windows) so i dont believe there are any antitheft systems on the truck. I believe i have drawn up a diagram that will work for my truck. Just wondering how to bypass the key mechanism on the steering column (locking wheel). I attached the diagram below. If it looks incorrect or correct please let me know. Thank you! I plan on making the switches in to a domino effect (one must be on before the next) so if the main kill switch faults i can kill it with one of the previous switch. I plan on making the main kill switch just a simple turn key mechanism that way i can take the key with me. Kind of defeats the purpose of what im doin, i know, but im changing the style of my truck so this helps the interior aspect. Thank you in advance!
