Yesterday I drove 300 miles on the interstate going about 85mph just as I got off the interstate at my exit going down some backroads I get 2 miles from my house and I feel some jerking so I look at the rpm gauge and it is bouncing from 1700rpm to 2100rpm at 50mph I decided to floor it then to get it out it and it just bogs I drove another .5 miles and it cleared on up. I've never had any problems out of it. It has 140,000 miles on it.

Maybe throttle positioning sensor. Had this problem with a Pontiac. Crazy Idle and it would want to die if I tried to floor it.

Start the engine, drop the transmission in neutral, attempted to rev the engine to 4k rpms. Does it rev? If not, you likely have a clogged cat.

I've had something like that happen every once in a while...on a summer day, when I first start it. Usually it's just a vapor lock in mine and my 5.2 Dakota. Could be something as simple as bad gas or possibly a dirty fuel filter.

Okay as soon as I get home I will try that "dodge dude94" and I hope it's not a fuel filter that's been in the back of my mind. I don't want to take the bed off that truck! Thank you guys!

You won't have to take the bed off. Just soak the nuts from the tank straps with a penetrating oil and use an impact to get them off, then the tank will drop down. I had to drop it to put leaf springs on my truck

They're $35 at autozone. Already replaced them. That's why I said impact. A ratchet would end up twisting and snapping the stud.

Damn, you must be lucky because I know at one point several guys were having issues finding them. One guy actually had to make some.

Sorry, I lied a little on the price... $35 was for my Dakota. But yeah, $52 and you've got brand new straps from autozone, and it's a stocked part

Interesting. Must be a new development since I believe it used to be the only place where you could get them was the dealer at $300 a set.

I just tried it and it revved up fine in neutral to 4k rpms...What is my next step should I pressure check the fuel lines? I was told I could do that with a tool from the parts store to check the fuel pump and fuel filter?
