So i was planning on going fishing tonight, went out to my truck and started her up. I let her sit for a minuet to let the engine warm up, once i did that i drove 50ft to a stop sign and she stalled! I started he back up and she sputtered then died. I turned the key again and she wouldn't start, i put my foot on the gas and after a second she fired up. After that she ran fine. Earlier this moth she was having trouble idling she would jump to higher rpm's and drop real low almost to a stall. the engine is a 5.7 hemi, automatic tranny. It has 45,000 miles, oil change was just done 2-3 weeks ago. I live in florida and the temp dropped to 45 degrees if that even matters. Should i be worrying about this? I think i am going to get a tune up (new spark plugs, ect.) could it be the mass air flow sensor? Any input would be appreciated! I am trying to save up to go to college and i can't afford my truck to break down.

First off you are posing in the 4th gen forum the 3rd gen guys might have more year spesific knowledge. Any check engine lights, usually if the engine dies it'll throw some kind of code. My buddy's dad has a 05 and his cam sensor went out that could potentially cause it to stall out. Plugs and a general tune up is always a good start of eliminating the easy problems.

My bad, it was a long night, and no check engine light came on

It's all good I figured I would give u a heads up, if you have a code scanner go ahead and throw it on there and check sometimes it'll give you a soft code.

With no code I would lean toward fuel pump

Could be fuel pump, you can get someone to turn the key forward and get close to the tank and see if it sounds weak, if you don't have a pressure gauge.

This exact problem happened on my 2004 hemi, the IAC needed to be replaced, also check if the throttle body needs to be cleaned.

these dont have mass air flow sensors so that will not be your problem
