Our old workhorse Ram is starting to show signs of its age.

Recently the headlights (low beams) started to flash, and intermittently go out. Now the running, and parking lights are doing the same.

I took out the handy multimeter to check the battery.....in a good 12.4-12.6v range with engine off, and 14.3v with engine running tells me alternator is good. Checked voltage to TIPM, full 14.3v are reaching there. Checked the headlight wire out of the TIPM, and it's showing voltage when the lights are on, zeros when they cut out......

Everything tells me TIPM needs to be replaced, but it's an oh so pricey part for a truck on it's last legs anyway.

Reman tipm from summit a few years ago was $300 (plus $200 core charge) for my ‘08. Plugged right in and has been working perfectly since with no programming. Can’t imagine it costs too much more now
