Changed the rear rotors and bearings. When I was done I put the truck in neutral without starting it to let it roll out of the garage. Now it won’t crank and the shift lever moves without the key being turned. Tried disconnecting the negative lead for 20 minutes. No luck. What happened??

did you put it in neutral by turning key to run and move the shifter !? Or did you use the neutral bypass in behind the panle by E-Brake release leaver ?

I turned the key and moved the shifter. Now i can move the shifter without the key even being in the ignition

Is your 2009 Dodge Ram a 1500 or larger ?

Does your 2009, have the full Floor Console with the shift lever near your right knee ?
Or is it a Column Shifter ?

If i were to guess, i would think that you tripped the Transmissions Neutral Bypass Mechanism & it needs to be reset
