2014 Ram Sport Build Thread (New Truck) Updates Page 3

Well, After over 4 years I decided it was time for a new truck. My last truck was run pretty hard and had some bad memories associated with it (Think cheating ex-wife while I was deployed).

Anyway, my old truck needed tires. In fact, it decided to have a blowout the day after I signed the paperwork on the new truck - it was traded in with the spare tire on it. :ugh For those of you wondering I did very well on my trade and got $11k of MSRP of the new truck.

The new truck did have to have a front plate mount removed and bumper painted. It also has a cigarette burn in the carpet from the transporter so they're installing all new carpet but it's not a big deal as they give me a vehicle to drive and I got a killer deal.

Edit - Official Mod list

Vararam
BT Catch Can from Old Truck
DeeZee Tailgate Lift
Truxedo Lo Pro Tonneau Cover from old truck
Betterbuild in bed toolbox
XD Monster 20x10 -12 Black with Goodyear Duratrac 325/60/20
Zone 4" Lift with Nitro Shocks
Bilstein 5100's at 0.7"
Diablo Intune Programmer
RetroShop HIDS
Factory Tow Hooks
Borla PROXS 40349 Muffler
Cabin Air Filter
Alumastinger 6" Drop Hitch and stainless hitch ball
Debadge
Xpel Door Sill Guards
20% Tint on Front windows
Plasti-dipped grill and Ram badges
Stubby Antenna
Moe's 87MM Throttle Body

A picture of old and new.

This is what I got done today. Tonight I'm going to attempt the 180 degree thermostat, debadge and perhaps the BT Catch can. I'm considering canceling my Vararam order and getting a S&B - any input? Mostly due to snow buildup that I've heard about on the front of the Vararam filter.

Windows tinted 20% with ceramic tint -

Truxedo Lo Pro QT Installed -

Betterbuilt Toolbox Partially Installed (I didn't screw it down as I'll have to remove it when I install the lift kit) -

Xpel Sill Guard Installed (You'll need 3 Rolls of this stuff to do what I did Front is 27.5" rear is 17.5" Amazon.com: XPEL Black Universal Door Sill Guard (60" x 2.75") Paint Protection Film Kit: Automotive) -

Careful de-badging it. Make sure to slice all the way through the foam tape and don't leverage any emblem pieces against the paint. I knew this and still caused a small nick in the finish.

Nice replacement too, 4wd or just 2wd?

Could you post a few more pics of that toolbox please?
I've wanted one since I got my truck but haven't seen one in these short beds.

I'll snap some more pics tomorrow. I'll get you the model number as well.

Will do. I've debadged quite a few vehicles so I know how easy it is to screw up. I've got a couple eraser wheels too. It's a 4x4.

Thanks for the kind words brother. Worst part was that I was diagnosed with a pretty severe TBI around the same time I found out about her. I digress but I've come pretty far from where I was and I have a much better woman in my life now.

In MOD news, I got the catch can installed in addition to the Diable Intune.

Tow hooks and thermostat tomorrow. Muffler on Thursday and Plasti-dipping chrome soon as well.

Sorry to hear about the cheating ex wife. That's horrible.
Nice looking truck. Looks like your last truck was pretty nice as well. I love the stickers on the inside of your truck box. :favorites13:
What is ceramic tint? Is it a different tint?
Thank you for your service to this great Country.
